Bumblebee_95 Neutral Newbie January 14, 2016 Share January 14, 2016 B8 is a pretty good generally, except the software problem that i am facing with since collection in November. First was the system clocks are slow almost everyday when I start the engine. The second is the reading of odometre got reset every now and then. The first problem was solved by re-loading the software after visiting Alexandre centre twice. But the second one still remains, though i have been sending the new car there for 4 times . Is there anybody experiencing the same? I'm experiencing the same system clock issue as you. Even though you have set the clock, somehow it magically slows down by 20+mins when you start the car each day. How long does VW take to reload the software? ↡ Advertisement
Letov 1st Gear January 14, 2016 Share January 14, 2016 VWAUDIFORUM UK reported a lot of infotain bugs on Passat B8. You guys might take it as reference and talk to VW Sin. Meanwhile, I need to imform my SE to get the latest software before hand over the car.

Why don't you set the clock to sync by GPS? Then it will always be accurate.
Paddie 3rd Gear January 14, 2016 Share January 14, 2016 The second is the reading of odometre got reset every now and then. Which odometer gets reset? The one within the trip computer that you can scroll through, or the one permanently displayed next to the total mileage, which is normally reset by pressing the "0.0" button? Even though you have set the clock, somehow it magically slows down by 20+mins when you start the car each day. How long does VW take to reload the software? it is exactly the same problem as mine. To re-load the software, it took me about 2 hours there. Which odometer gets reset? The one within the trip computer that you can scroll through, or the one permanently displayed next to the total mileage, which is normally reset by pressing the "0.0" button? It is the one called "since refuel". According to the service rep, it is different software that controls the system clock. He had it re-loaded last Saturday but the reading was re-set again after running merely 160km.

I have encountered almost every problem mentioned there except for those related to GPS. Am I lucky or un-lucky?

Or is there any settings to adjust...?

Hopefully.
Ghost_Buster Clutched January 18, 2016 Share January 18, 2016 any one knows how to link iPhone to car's infotainment system? There is no problem for the telephone calls, but other than that, all the notification sounds are not played. There is an app from Apple Store but I need to activate it every time. Is there any other solutions?

Anderang 2nd Gear January 18, 2016 Author Share January 18, 2016 How many Odometers does the Passat have? 1) Main Odometer for total mileage that cannot be reset 2) Manual one that can be reset manually and...? Only 2 odometers which u mentioned. This 'since refuelling' counter is displayed under the CAR section of the discover pro headunit. Basically this counter should follow the trip odometer which can be reset manually. But somehow this counter resets by itself even though the trip odometer is not resetted manually. To me I am not too concerned with this bug. But a bug is still a bug, and according to one bro here, the problem cannot be rectified even after reloading the software.

The one that be reset is called "Extended Period".
