My metric is a low annual depreciation - the K3 has it just a smidge below $9k a year. It offers four door practicality with a full size boot, which is the basic requirement for an entry level car in a single-vehicle family. Some other cars may be cheaper but they have low OMV numbers which result in higher depreciation. As for resale, have a look at comparably-aged Korean and Japanese sedans and see if the depreciation difference is worth the difference when it comes to selling them on.

just got to know today that mitsubishi asx goin for 107k, subject to trade in car to their subsidiary republic auto, else add 7k more.

Hi bro, good to see u posting.

I understand Republic Auto gives lousy trade in prices so beware. Suggest u do your homework first on what is a fair value of your car before committing. They supposedly sell u ASX cheap but take in your car

low is in army speak LPPL lol!

I believe many gentlemen over here are waiting for the COE to drop before buying their new car. And I believe among this crowd, there are people who just want a simple car as a transport. Don't care too much on the HP but not 1000cc n below la.

And I'm have to searching through online to check which car has the lowest price (excluding those china cars la) And I came out with the following models

1. chevrolet sonic hatchback

2. nissan note

3. Honda fit

4. accent 1.4m

of course must consider their cevs then the parf value.

And There might be models I missed out. Guys any good suggestion for a lowest price with the best bang for your bucks?

Of the 4 u mentioned, I leaning towards the Jap hatchbacks. If price is the main factor, won't go wrong with Note I feel. Fit is PI which I prefer not to go this route. Jazz is higher prices but guess being a Honda, a premium is attached to it.

Note DIG is supposedly the better pick but need to check in the Note thread on feedback but from what I've been told so far, it's good value for money n if u manage to get the NPMP maintenance thrown in, it's excellent, happy car hunting!!

Note have this $10000 cevs so the arf is only $5k. The interior is really below average but I like the leg room and the spacious interior plus the fc efficiency.

Honda fit have a more attractive interior and exterior

Honda jazz does have the legroom.....for 90k price,I guess most cars currently at close to 100k - 105k should come down end this year to yr budget if u can wait, imho

The mazda 3 seems good value for its FC n features

Think he's looking for best value for money cars which as good as these 2 cars are, unlikely they are value for money I'm afraid.

Understand new Mazda 2 sedan will be launched soon n I'm expecting it to be cheaper then the Mz2 hatchback being MIT v MIJ. That could prove value for money if that's the case.

Ya, this I what I'm hoping. Actually I got a list of prefer choice, haha

First choice - Qashqai 1.2

2nd choice - Mazda 3 1.5 deluxe

3rd choice - Vezel 1.5X

If COE still high at the end of the yr

1. K3

2. Honda fit
