Hope the press and everyone talks about it and highlights this incident , its about high time; Singapore terrain smooth and even so all take for granted, most to most fall down and loose balance maybe ; but its an annoyance when some body is oncoming or you start to not walk in a straight line/ path (not focussed) and some body wants to "overtake" from the back

Actually this is happening right in our midst currently as whilst driving I see a lot of pedestrians glued to their cellphones whilst crossing the road oblivious to the surroundings which sometimes means that the green man in their favour has changed to red, really dangerous!

The price to pay for modern gadgets distraction, RIP to that guy.

Not just pedestrians, got driver also glued to hand phone. You can spot them driving slowly and tapping brake light frequently. One day, one may drive off a cliff too,

That's very true as well! Need accidents like this to wake us up but guess after awhile, we all get lured back into complacency. It's a pity as life is so precious so we can do without the need to be careless!!

Worse is drive like a 'snake' cannot keep within lane. Once encountered a cab that kept going out of lane and even almost striking kerb while driving on straight road, kept my distance from him and overtook him only when safe enough, turned briefly to look at him, saw that his attention was on his lap. That was the time when cab drivers start using apps to get 'calls'.
