What is Toyota thinking?

Turbocharged

this is also known as the Prius C... aka the crappy cheap Prius where every possible cost saving measure has been taken... and probably also battery saving?

You will not burn a hole in your pocket to repair the power window motor. Children do not get their head or hand stuck too.

Not surprising. Toyota always don't care so much for the interior, exterior n the features of their car.

And they still dare to price their car at quite a high rate

Retro design for Toyota car now? Even the new altis dashboard area also looks like the 80s design. So i would not surprise that they bring back the manual winding window handle?! Lol.

Well, a mechanical window can operate even when battery is flat. Imagine if like the woman in JB who drove the car into the sea. If the sea had swallowed up the car, no amount of turning the key fob is of use if the battery is short circuit, you can never wind down the window in the powered window.

Sometimes simplicity is good. How often does one's operate the rear passenger windows anyway.

However, if one tends to operate the windows frequently, I cannot deny the fact that powered window offers the convenience.

Just my 2 cts thought.

Some stuff I still prefer analog / mech:

Windows - though a hassle when clearing customs without rear passengers.

A/c

Seat adjustment

True, manual window can be a safety feature. If anything happen, the window can still be wind down from inside. Unless the handle drop off, lol.

Strange to see Toyota reverting to manual rear windows when even the Continentals still use auto ones despite reports of rear window accidents involving children in Europe.

Another example of Continentals being more safety conscious is that most of their cars can be opened from inside even though car is centrally locked which is diff from Jap cars who need the door to be unlocked before opening for such instances. Guess idea behind it is to be able to escape in an emergency.

So I don't see the reverting to manual handles as a safety improvement but more as a cost/energy saving measure IMO.

Why complain Toyota when the buyers are all willingly buying barebone model ??.

Willing buyer willing seller .. Hehe..

From that logic, I think Toyota should just sell car without airbag.. Recent major airbag recall and cause of injuries and death is definitely a justification for its removal.. Hehehhe...

Looks like a raw car from Jap. Most Jap cars come in barebone because of tax. Power window, leather seat, air-con, radio, alarm ... wheels are locally installed. But like wat the other bro said, u cant go wrong w/ toyota. The preferred fighting vehicle for IS.
