Glad bro fibo is fine.

Should rewatch the video, towards the end you can catch cyclist's marbles fell onto the road and bounced onto pavement

This reminded me of something I saw on CNA this morning! Another idiot cyclist (who wasn't so lucky)...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBmhmy6Hf1w

Luckily for him, he was wearing a helmet. I can't say the same for many cyclists here on the roads. Once again another cyclist gets owned cos he thought he was above the road rules and decided to continue going across the train crossing even when the barrier was already down. Almost won the Darwin award.

putting the video together serve at least one purpose for now - we the driver learn what possible road behaviour the cyclists may have, and possible outcome of the incident. we can then learn from it and know what to expect should we encounter one.

perhaps the current cyclist incident can start a thread and name it something easier for search for future postings.

i look forward to the thread. :-)

There is one. In the complaints forum. Reckless Cyclists.

Wtf was he thinking of?! Close shave for you and if the motorbike was on your left . . . . . .

This stretch is along Bukit Gombak towards the direction of BBDC.

This cyclist better not try his stunt with the L-platers in that area!

Some rules they follow to a tee, like riding abreast on a busy road; some they don't, like riding on the 1st lane, running red light, riding across pedestrian crossing, zebra crossing and pavement, riding on ECP/MCE/AYE, speaking on mobile device while riding, etc.

That said, some cyclists are good. Some drivers are bad.

There will always be those who don't follow, just like drivers don't follow some rules eg cutting across double white lines. Somebody disliked my previous post on cyclists but honestly there is nothing personal, if I was the driver I wouldn't want to hit a cyclist either, especially if it's due to the cyclist's fault as the law will probably put the blame on the bigger vehicle. Just like how if a car knocks down a pedestrian jaywalking, the car driver is probably still going to be blamed. If you cycle nicely and follow the road rules then I would gladly give way to you, usually I try not to squeeze past a cyclist but instead change lane to give space (I believe the law says you need to give 1.5m space when passing a cyclist).

Bbdc drivers need practice so good that he is there. Try Eunos, everything can crush your L plate car lol

Many actually don't know. I always ride on the PCN with my kids, and will tell them to dismount once it is a pavement or pedestrian crossing. However, there was once I cycled with one of my friends and his kids, they didn't know. Still can ask me why dismount... Asked around and all those uncle and aunties many of them also don't know they can't cycle on footpath and got to dismount at pedestrian crossings.

guys, i feel that it is time we collect all these cyclist and motorized bicycle related incident in one place for our knowledge and experience sharing. With constant update of what cyclist may possibly behave on the road, we can learn to be more defensive in our driving, results in safer road usage for all.

A consolidated cyclist tread can also present to the TP one day that compulsory 'road safety for cyclist' lesson/license is necessary for the cyclist.

what do you think?

How is that road license/lessons going for the car drivers?  I see regular reports of car crashes daily.

(I believe the law says you need to give 1.5m space when passing a cyclist).

Is there a local law that prescribes 1.5m space when overtaking a cyclist? Can kindly quote please?

What is your view of cyclists switching from left-most lane to the 1st lane to turn right at junction? I thought cyclists are supposed to ride close to the left hand edge of the roadway according to the Road Traffic (Bicycle) Rules?

I have seen many cyclists switching 2-4 lanes in the middle of a very busy road to turn right at junction.
