Can recommend a few shops which have stock for Goodyear f1a3?

Good reviews for the a2 and a3 online and it seems bit cheaper than a equivalent Michelin.

Currently 45k on my stock Michelin primacy st. Actually no complaints whatsoever even now.

I only used gr90 last time so not much xp with tyres...

U guys really lot of feedback about how tyre feels. My ah pek car can't feel so much. As long it grips well, low noise, Decent wear, I'm OK.

Wah GR90. That one is like teflon perpetual motion compound compared to UHP tyres IMHO.

Ah pek car or not, UHP tayar will help when you need to jam brakes in wet weather when some thrice cursed PHV does an annoying move cos he looking at his 3 mobile phones.

Go for the A3. Its seems like the most comfort oriented of the mainstream UHP tyres.

ps. Update on my A3s, 10k passed liao they still look very newish. Probably can last 2 more years.

I just changed to this exact tyre 2 weeks back at Yap Brothers at Toh Guan. Don't think they are cheap, but service is good. So have been changing tyres here.

Ok la

They are not very expensive .

But confirm not the cheapest in the market.

I will pay for good service and after service any time.

If you are changing from stock 45k km worn michellin primacy to the the F1A3, the difference is night and day in terms of road noise, ride comfort, wet/dry grip and handling confidence. Had your intended tyre change before, down to same tire size. It is a comfortable UHP tyre, no regrets.

But a few downsides to note from real life usage for exact same tyre chg.

i) It loses tyre pressure faster compared with the michellins. Tracking tyre pressure, muchellin loses abt 10 kPa every month, and the F1A3 is 50% more at 15-20 kPa every month. So depends if you are the sort to check tyre pressure regularly. Stock rims, new tyre valve stems by LSTA, so i suspect it is the softer high aspect ratio 50 sidewalls flexing, because another set of 35 & 40 profile sidewall F1A3 runflats had no such problems for me.

ii) The F1A3 wont make it to 50k km, i think it may at best do 40k km till it touches the wear indicators. YMMV.

iii) Was a little perturbed by the low rolling resistance at first, had to readjust a little on when to let off the accelerator when coasting to red lights and in stop-go traffic. Feels like the car is sliding forward without control or engine brake, but after a while, got used to it. Usually dont get this feeling on what is supposed to be a more sporty tyre.

quoted by arrow for 180/tyre + 50 for alignment. seems quite reasonable.

Not far from my home too unlike Ubi and the rest...

Bro if your driving is straight and worn well. Don't do alignment.

Don't fix it if it ain't broken.

I would align every 2-3 years. You’ll be surprised that it helps with wear and handling. Especially those who kerb wheels often

Haha I remember that I read quite a bit about wheel alignment before I changed my tyres on my altis. Seems like some do, some don't. OK will take advice of you guys since I don't do high mileage. Its only my 2nd ever tyre change.

What does YB stand for?

i paid 180/pc at arrow tyres for my 225/50/17. It was cheaper than some online ubi shop, kimhoe.

I decided to change earlier cos 2 of my tyres have already reached and slightly past wear indicator (think i didn't rotate them during one servicing)

Yap Brothers, one of the popular tire shops.

alignment after new tire installed is not a must.

But at least look at the old worn tires wear pattern which more or less could tell the need of such JOb.

can ask the tire WS some advice on it .

if have extra money to check that is your wish .

always remember is quiet normal to see your front left outer part wear more than inner part .
