given a choice I prefer made in Thailand tyres over Europe. I am forced to think this way as the only tyres that ever cracked for me were made in Deutschland, after only 1 year use.

i meant the F1A3 made in german. i bought from authorized agent and my impression was most agent bring in tyre made in TH.

was that mounted on your car ?

very curious , may be you can check your Driver door pillar / door usually that is a label stick on , will display the Factory recommended tire size.

just MHO

The tyres shop that quote me PS 4 for complete set of 4 tyres and new Rim is $ 200 more than PZero and F1A3.  Meaning $50 more per tyre

Not sure how much you were quoted but I believe the prices i listed in an earlier post are pretty accurate

Hypersonic

Hard to describe to you.. your next change of tyre, you go for performance based tyres like Bridgestone Potenza RE003, Pirelli Pzero, Michelin PS4.. then will know what the difference.

Sorry to replied such a old thread to you.

But for a B & B car like a Altis or the Sylphy, just for example.

The steering originally had already zero feel.

give chance la

zero feel does not mean cannot get "performance" tyres ma

i strongly urge even a 100bhp car could get good tyres

a set of good tyres is much more important than the snake oil abc & xyz brake kit and simi tok-kong brake fluid

good grip, awesome braking and reduce aquaplaning tyres make a huge difference

I was on PS4, now on F1A3. Let me share what I know and felt.

PS4, 225/45/17
$165 per pc, Leong Seng
Made in Spain
Used for approx 1.5 years

F1A3, 225/45/17
$150 per pc, Leong Seng
Made in Germany
Used for 1 week (400km)

I know it is still early to gauge the F1A3. However initial experience so far has been good and I felt confident enough to start commenting. F1A3 is more comfortable and quieter than PS4. PS4 got noisy after 5000km. Performance in dry, wet so far has been comparable. Lookswise, the PS4 has a flatter and duller sidewall. F1A3 looks a bit more bulgey (rounded). Both are same size. I think I prefer F1A3 look. Both sidewall are quite soft.

Both are good tyres. I prefer F1A3.

Could not edit my post so I just add in here for more comparison.

I had GR100 --> PS4 --> F1A3 (current). All on current car.

GR100 is supposed to be comfort (touring?) tyres. I had GR80 and GR90 in a previous car and I had good impression of them. Now on hindsight, I find GR100 horrible. My car aquaplaned whenever there is puddles on the highway side. It felt like the wheels on one side of the car lost contact with tarmac and was just thrashing the water. Oh, GR100 wear rate is horrible also. I changed them after around 1 year +.

PS4 and F1A3 thrash GR100 in every performance aspects. In terms of noise, PS4 and GR100 maybe quite close, F1A3 is quietest (base on my memory of all tyres noise in the initial stage). GR100 is softest but I do not find very soft tyres to be comfortable. I like cars to be firm and provide good damping instead of just being soft. Since the change from GR100 to PS4, I have concluded to avoid all those "comfort based" tyres cos they emphasize on comfort but poor on performance. Performance tyres are the new comfort (balanced) tyres for me for street use. Of course, I am not talking about those high end performance tyres like PSS, AD08, PS4S(?), etc. Mine is bread and butter thai made car.

I changed my rims but remain on 17 inch. Just that stock was 6.5 but new is 7.5 width. Stock tyres size is 205-50-17, a rare size. Typical good tyres in this size cost around 250 to 300 per piece. With new rims i can get 225-45-17 tyres which are much cheaper. There are much more tyre choice also. E.g. f1a3 is 150. On avg i change tyres every 2 years (usually less). That means change tyres 4 times for 10 years of car usage. Thats potentially a simple saving of 4x4x150 = 2400. U can get pretty good jap forged rims 17 inch using this savings plus save some wheel weight that improves fuel cost and improves ride quality. Use these factors when u present to your co for approval if applicable.

Of cos when u change rim, do alot of research on rim size n offset and that it can fit yoir car.

150$ for your f1a3? Which taya shop can share please

Hi, i have already shared the shop name a few posts above. It is leong seng. Take note the tyres were slightly more than 1 year old at the time of installation. Some people are v particular about the date codes

Just replaced my old tyres and replaced them with the F1A3 last week. For a start, the tyres are as per what bro @columbian78 mentioned. Quiet tyres (my old tyres weren't so quiet even when new). Performance wise, I would say i can confidently take that sharp turn. Wet grip has been good. It feels more like a comfort tyre rather than an UHP tyre. The sidewall design looks weird and bulgy. The tyres also give me the bouncy feeling after a hump which my previous tyres don't. I guess the tyres are soft thats why the bounce. Still trying it out and hopefully I can remember to update after 5000km.

Just change to F1A3 just now.. First impression is really very quiet, other than that cannot comment yet as travel less than 20km.

Previously on stock factory tyres Nexen CP643a for my Kia K3 and it's really very noisy since day 1. Now change to this tyre really heaven and earth on cabin noise. Now i can hear my engine noise louder than the tyres... oh sh*t  :ouch-it-hurts:
