TQaR 2nd Gear December 9, 2015 Share December 9, 2015 hi all, im driving a hyundai getz 1.1m for the past 1.5 years, no major issues at all. after 4 dec, every time it rains the water is somehow leaking into the passenger footwell area, and i mean its gushing in. ive dried out the floor mat but the carpet itself is soaked n can only hope for it to dry over time. i have no idea where this leak is and how the water is getting in. i took the car to one workshop, they said that its an aircon issue and they wanna clean out the entire blower, cost S200. took to another worksop, the guy looked at the car for 1 hour but could not find any leak. any kakis or getz owner face this issue before and any way to solve this? any help is appreciated.. even if u can suggest any workshop who have come across something like this. thanks all! ↡ Advertisement
flashbang Turbocharged December 9, 2015 Share December 9, 2015 Go take a bucket of water and splash it over various areas to diagnose the issue. If you don't know where the water comes from, how to know what's the problem?
Kb27 Supersonic December 9, 2015 Share December 9, 2015 (edited) The last time I owned a Getz and it had the same leak, I traced it to a wire pushed through by a bloody lazy installer for the alarm system. The wire pushed the rubber seal aside and leave a tiny gap. When it rains, the water splashed through the gap. You might want to go down on your knees and look for any such wires coming in through the firewall. Edited December 9, 2015 by Kb27
TQaR 2nd Gear December 10, 2015 Author Share December 10, 2015 the second workshop guy tried pouring in water using a hose, but he still could not find where exactly the leak is. there is a small hole at the bottom of the windshield, which of course if for the water to drain out, but i suspect that water that is suppose to drain out is somehow finding its way inside the car. any workshop to recommend kakis?
