Bluepica 4th Gear December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 for the pass few months, my KDK ceiling fan have been splurting drops of brownish liquid onto my wall. I thought my ceiling was leaking thru the bolts hole, but I have tried almost to dismantling the whole fan but found it dry all around. The blades was also dry. I wonder where does the liquids came from and it's like never ending supply! Anyone faces this problem>? ↡ Advertisement
Count-Bracula Twincharged December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 Hmmmm . . . very strange indeed. What about the part where the blades connect to the main body of the fan?

I wonder where does the liquids came from and it's like never ending supply! Anyone faces this problem>? Unless your ceiling fan is very close to the walls, the fan needs to spin at a very high rpm for the droplets to be flunked onto the walls...maybe you can further determine from the height where the stains are found. Or could it be a laosai lizard doing business there? Lizards are like dogs, quite toilet trained. They tend to shit at the same place.

I wonder where does the liquids came from and it's like never ending supply! Anyone faces this problem>? Do you phyically see the "brown liquid" been thrown to the wall? Chances is the stain you seen on the wall are not liquid stain, but "wet" dirt. OK, based on my past experience, I also noted "liquid stain" on the neighbouring walls and trying hard to figure out where is it from. But one fine day, saw a tiny chunck of dirt flying off from the fan blade when I switch from lowest speed (which I have been using most of the time) to the highest speed. This sudden increase in spin speed cause accumulated dirt particle (which can be a little moist or even oily - if your fan is close to the kitchen) to flew off the blade and staining the wall in the process. And before you think that I have not been cleaning my fan for years, nope, all it take is just a couple of weeks for dust / dirt to accumulate to a size that is capable of staining the wall. Try cleaning all the blades and monitor the situation for a couple of weeks to see if there are any new stain. Cheers.

Kb27 Supersonic December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 (edited) Check the capacitors, maybe it's leaking oil..one drop at a time...and it's flung by the spinning blades to the wall. Edited December 3, 2015 by Kb27

Adrianli Hypersonic December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 Overheated motor coil which can cause the wax wrapping the coil to melt. Better get electrician to check before fan caught fire due to overheating ... For the laminating layer of the coil to melt and drip, there would be smoke and burning smell already. I burnt quite a few brushless motors to know. So I dont think it is the motor coil. Maybe from the bearing seals.
BanCoe Hypersonic December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 (edited) So only KDK can shit ?, i mean shoot dirt??, i remember many years back one of the fans in my warehouse never clean since like maybe 10 years they got like a thick layer of "felt" like material forming at the sides of the blade and on top and like a little greasy too ; Once finally used a "gala/ pole " attached to a broom to clean as ceiling is like more than 25 feet high or even higher and still use forklift for additional height too Edited December 3, 2015 by BanCoe

Bluepica 4th Gear December 4, 2015 Author Share December 4, 2015 I am using the KDK remote control ceiling fan with plastics blades. I have keep the blades clean all the while. I did unscrew the blades one by one and didn't notice any brownish stain, it's as new as before. The motor is not hot, no smoke, no smell. few months back, I notice there are a lot (not few droplets) on one neighboring wall (about 4 feets away), it's the reflection from the ceiling light that drew my attention... I'm not sure what is was and just let it be. but then keep seeing it till now, and I thought how come it doesn't dry up.... it's kind of light weighted oil. then recently I found the splash on the other side of the wall which is my tv console and then the main door..... and now, I thought who has a dirty legs that everytime make the floor dirty with black spots (my flooring is matt rough surface homogenous tiles like those use for toilet)... only then I realise it's those splurting from the fan. I thought the ceiling is leaking from above unit thru the bolts' hole into the fan and splurts out. I dismantled the whole fan cover and checked to find nothing irregularities. still puzzled now ↡ Advertisement
