Thanks for all the info.

After reading thru those link and HW forums you linked i reckon I would still stick to M1 500 mbs.

My family not into gaming so the current 500mbs is reasonably sufficient. I also fact in the starhub future termination costs of 30plus dollars. So literally not much of a saving eventually.

wow Singtel is getting serious, very serious in getting back their market shares.

I see many singtel salespeople at mrt station, bus terminal, and even knocking from door to door to convert other telco users.

they offer taking over the contract, mean paying for the compensation, offer whatever package you currently having with the other telco, on top of that up the speed and half the price of the channels you subscribed to.  Too bad mine just renew and when they saw the expiry date, the cost is too high for them [laugh]

I dropped Starhub 500Mbps fibre broadband for a SIM router. 😁

Purpose is to reduce costs.

I was thinking along that line for a sim router but hold back the idea since connectivity to goggle nest might pose an issue for my residential. No straight forward like using fiber broadband plug and play.

I'm not familiar with google nest. But it appears to be a bunch of smart devices connected to a network. With a SIM router, you can also connect them to the network via LAN ethernet or wifi. The SIM card acts like the fibre broadband, albeit the bandwidth is lower.

Imo, it's good enough for two 4k video streams and web browsing simultaneously. If you're doing other bandwidth intensive stuff, then it'll not be good enough.
