Contipro 5th Gear February 19, 2018 Share February 19, 2018 So may I safely conclude that both cars would be better off with a CVT as ratio will be lowered, thus when at higher speed, rpm remains lower than instead of a six speed auto? since the info for Honda vezel & mazda is easily available, the finding seem interesting showing CVT indeed better for cruising 120km/hr at lower rpm: Honda Vezel 1.5 CVT (CVT ratio 2.526~0.408/5.436) with stock tire 215/60/R16 = 2170 rpm Honda Vezel Hybrid 1.5 DCT (7sp ratio 4.192.....0.446/5.588) with stock tire 215/60/R16 = 2440 rpm Mazda 3 1.5 (6sp ratio 3.529....0.594/4.319) with stock tire 205/60/R16 = 2560 rpm Actual the elantra / K3 still stuck with the old gearbox design, just hope the next face-lift/new model do come out with better gearbox for better fuel efficiency. above calculated engine rpm remark: -assumption torque converter full lock up without any slippage. -CVT at lowest ratio which unlikely depend on engine optimum efficiency point -Tyre OD size assume reduce by 3% due to tyre no longer round when load under car weight / tyre pressure. -exclude any error on speedo meter by manufacturer. ↡ Advertisement

Not surprising... CVT is meant to always run at optimum engine speed mah... so it's the most efficient I would say if driven gently...
Jounetsu 1st Gear February 23, 2018 Share February 23, 2018 The K3 EX is way overpriced. Exactly a year ago, when Cat A COE was $50,000, K3 EX was selling at $89,000. Today, Cat A COE costs $10,000 less at $40,000 but K3 EX is selling at just $1,000 lower at $88,000 You are quite right. I have not check other Kia models, but K3 prices seems to defy gravity.... Even with higher OMV or specs, it shouldn't be so much difference. Latest prices are an example, no doubt it has adjusted its price, but compared to Civic, it is still not near proportion to the COE. Based on SG Carmart latest prices, Civic is getting nearer to K3 prices. With much higher OMV, Civic is more worth it. Even Elantra (Elite) is now $87,999. 22 November 2017 Cat A COE : $46,791 Civic 1.6 = $111,999 K3 (L) = $84,999 K3 (EX) = $91,999 K3 (SX) = $98,999 21 February 2018 Cat A COE : $36,859 Civic 1.6 = $99,999 K3 (L) = $77,999 K3 (EX) = $86,999 K3 (SX) = $92,999

HaroldYeo Neutral Newbie February 24, 2018 Share February 24, 2018 Hi all, DO NOT polish your car at C&C Kia. Very very bad experience. After polishing found that were yellow stains left on the white body of my 5month old K3. Some of the yellow stains were from dirt that would normally be easily washed of. Sent it back to Kia to rectify. Was initially told that I would need to pay $100 because it was my fault that I chose to drive in a dirty environment. Only after insisting that I would like to speak to management, that they told me that they would do the removal complimentary. Had a lot of inconveniences caused because of this. Upon collection of car, was informed by service advisor, most of the stains cannot be removed anymore, and the stains have already bitten into the paintwork. There is nothing that they can do about it. Great...........

Not siding on anyone but sometimes we as owners may not notice the issues which was already there and only aware after someone have done something to our cars . Yellow stains can be caused by bird lime or tree saps which may sunken into the paintwork if not properly taken care of . Even paint protections will not give 100% protection on paintwork and by the way , polish won’t do wonders and if the yellow stains have been there for quite sometime it will be hard to get rid off . This is based on my experience on my white car the last time . Cheers .

Anyways, I feel C&C, being the professionals that they claim to be, must have known such "yellow" issues that can potentially impact the clients' experiences. As such, before proceeding with the paint protection or whatever polish, they should have duly informed their clients. And we, as clients, can make an informed decision to sign on the dotted line or not. I am not having second thoughts if I should utilise that 50% "discount" for that paint protection thingy. Can someone pls advise the price by the way?

The 50% paint protection should be around $300 if I am not wrong . The original price is near $600.
HaroldYeo Neutral Newbie February 25, 2018 Share February 25, 2018 If the car was like a few years old. I honestly wouldnt be bothered about stains on it. Its the fact that after sending the car to them for polishing and having stains appear, according to them, of chemicals that I drove over, appearing less than 24hours after the polishing is done. And also rather pissed off is the fact that they nonchalantly told me that there is nothing that they could do, and the stains are now permanent. ↡ Advertisement
