nomoreheadphonejack Clutched November 30, 2016 Share November 30, 2016 I was like your Dad too in the early days. I was driving a Bimmer 320 then and take a plunge to a Hyundai Trajet MPV cause having 3 kids the bimmer is just too small. It was in 2005 and the Trajet is one of my favourite car so far. Friends and Relative question me why buy a Korean. To me, the korean have improve alot and is fast catching up with the Jap. Drove it for 5 trouble-free years then change to a Hyundai Santa Fe SUV and again it serve me 9 trouble-free years. Apart from normal wear and tear parts, there is zero major issue and the best part is, I never go back to agent for servicing at all. Have travelled up north 1001 times in both model and its very stable at speed. Unlike the Jap, you may experience floating effect...So for this year, since kids are big already...they don't follow me that often anymore. No need for a big car and K3 fit me just nice. Yes indeed, K3 have features only the expensive conti model has. Like the driver/passenger cooling seat, I like alot. Do consider it and maybe go for a test drive. Interior quality is better than the rival H imo. Best of all, you don't premium price for premium features as compare to rival H. Hope that helps... Thanks for the depth of your reply, it really helps me better sway my dad into making a more economical decision ↡ Advertisement

Kelby 2nd Gear November 30, 2016 Share November 30, 2016 Hows the experience so far with kia? my dad is looking to get a new car next year. Our current car is a toyota Altis. But he has a preconceived perception that korean cars are bad quality. I think the K3 looks pretty good and has some pretty attractive features. I find that Japanese car, certain models are good...Of course the brand Toyota and Honda has establish itself in Singapore market as well as Japan market. But now they shift their plant to Thailand, so it makes their car quality may not be that of a standard compare to a MADE IN JAPAN model. Personally, put the brand aside, importantly is test the car, and get a feel of it. Jap cars seem to be lighter in weight, korean car are much heavier... Jap spare parts more ex compare to Korean cars. It is very hard to define bad quality anot...isnt Samsung has beat most of the Jap brand in the TV areana..and also the mobile phone areana... So gotto feel it yourself..of course...some jap cars are still very good and durable. They also have better resales value.

flashbang Turbocharged December 2, 2016 Share December 2, 2016 The K3 is full of features and got a good look. Altis is a bit dated and equipment is so so. Based on that, K3 is really a no brainer. But the old mentality of "Toyota is japanese which is better quality" is hard to shake off...
teomingern Supercharged December 2, 2016 Share December 2, 2016 Well it's true that Toyota is really pretty bulletproof... so there's some basis for the mindset... just that many have not moved on with the times...

flashbang Turbocharged December 2, 2016 Share December 2, 2016 Toyota engine are relatively very durable..but they always didnt do more advance in terms of the interior cabin.. Durable also depend on the driver... Maybe toyota engine can tahan even if driver never maintain properly. But if driver maintain the car properly, other models can also be durable like toyota. My friends who drive suzuki, honda, hyundai also no issues after 10 years. Proper maintenance is key to ensuring your car doesn't fail you when you need it! Proper maintenance is key to ensuring your car doesn't fail you when you need it! Yes, the driver play an important role in maintaining the car. Alot of people perceive Japanese Car to be better because the Jap cars has been in SG market for a very long time, and of coz, the word durability has come to their mind, and perceive it to be a hassle free car.. It is hard to compare , as some people may clock less than 200K KM in 10yrs, but some people can clock 300K KM in 10yrs, so the mileage play a factor in durability..those who clock high mileage tend to wear out the parts faster. Multi 3rd Gear December 9, 2016 Share December 9, 2016 (edited) They are people who took CnC inhouse finance not necessary urber or grab. Uber or grab take LCR better.. No you get it wrong....CnC got 2 plans for customer. 1). The normal purchase, which is 30% D/P. Inhouse finance is from Maybank or UOB or HL Finance. 2). The PHP (private Hire purchase) plan - for those who want to be Uber or Grab driver. Finance under GBFS which buyer can pay 10% D/P and loan 90% pay over 10 years with fix rate of 3.98%. Hope that clears your doubts. Edited December 9, 2016 by Multi ↡ Advertisement
