QQDreamer 4th Gear November 24, 2015 Share November 24, 2015 actually if you want to save cost, you can buy parts from stockist and ask workshop to do. labour cost should varies from workshop to workshop, can you can compare prices for the labour from workshops
pm_yeo Neutral Newbie December 2, 2015 Share December 2, 2015 My 2009 Estima is also due for shock replacement. I do not need high end parts, but just your average "good-enough" to last my next 4yrs. Can fellow forummers recommend me a reliable brand/part? and also which reliable workshop can i engage? i prefer to do it all through the workshop, and not to buy parts myself through stockist. Thanks :)

Thanks :) For shocks, its better to get w/s to buy and replace because if parts fail later ( less than 2 months)), the w/s can have it changed. But if you buy and let w/s change, you will have to bear the cost again. That was what happened to me some time back.

Ichibawa 5th Gear December 11, 2015 Share December 11, 2015 Its better to buy the parts here and change it in JB as its well known that you may get imitations there. Even the locals come to Sg to buy spareparts. You may also need to check what brand they are offering ath that price level.

Ichibawa 5th Gear December 11, 2015 Share December 11, 2015 yeah bro. was worried about this too. any honda stockist in jb to intro? I doubt the spare parts in Malaysia will be cheaper than Sg. Even Japs come to Sg to buy original parts for Japs makes. You may have a chance if KYB Malaysia does have your car in their range list.
Kb27 Supersonic December 11, 2015 Share December 11, 2015 Want to save money? Get the parts from supplier, bring to JB, many tayar shops will be able to change for you, maybe about less than rm200 for labour.

Get the parts from supplier, bring to JB, many tayar shops will be able to change for you, maybe about less than rm200 for labour. I second Kb27. I also did the same. Bought all my parts here in S'pore and brought them over to JB. I changed my Altis' absorbers for less than S$500, all in, parts (original Toyota), labour and wheel alignment. If you want to save more, use OEM parts and probably can get S$100 or more off the total. Edited December 11, 2015 by Brobear ↡ Advertisement
