nazerath Turbocharged December 1, 2015 Share December 1, 2015 Such product is most useful if it's designed for tube-fitted tyre as the messy stuff will then be contained within inside the inner tube w/o messing with the rims. Unfortunately, I doubt that it's designed for use on inner tube. Otherwise, it will be a ideal product for motorcross/scrambler bikes. Ya I tried on inner tubes, not as effective, won't suddenly burst but still flatten. ↡ Advertisement
Roberttan 5th Gear December 2, 2015 Share December 2, 2015 There are actually oem tires with this stuff coated inside straight out of factory However available tire profiles are extremely limited and very costly as these tires are specified by the car maker for some of their models. I guess tire manufacturers are reluctant to add this to all their tyres as it certainly will affect their top lines
Enye Hypersonic December 3, 2015 Share December 3, 2015 yes have seen those tire with black sticky glue applied inside the tire (mainly standard original tire for VW Passat / Scirocco) sad to discover many of these car owners are not aware that their car are fitted with this kind of tire after they took over his New car and after they change new tire (VW Sales Rep and Tire or workshop never highlight ) My knowledge about this Seal tire is it decelerate the punctured leak (not Leak proofed) as compared to normal tire thus it allows driver to have more time and longer distance to ask for help ,and this car generally will equipped with TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) to alert driver of the tire pressure lost . according to instruction this tire has the ability of self seal after the nail is removed (not 100%) just my sharing i think when these oem tires are due for replacement, i would ask the tire shop to put a nail through them to test their effectiveness

I have been using the same pirelli 235/40/18 seal inside tire for more than 2 years now.see picture. few months ago, 2 tires keep leaking and i need to pump air every 3 days. Tire shop finds no fault and i have to replace the 2 tires. May be tire sealant has reached end of life. You have the same issue?

IMG_1733.JPG IMG_1734.JPG 17 inch ver used abt 1 yr + swap out to upsize 18 18 one also abt 1 yr + then swap to ps3 didnt encounter any issue leh what rim u on, issit possible its a rim or a valve problem there is no such thing as the sealing patch become end of life the way it works is like sticking a scotch tape on a balloon u pierce it and then pull out the scotch tape will still hold the hole if your whole tyre/rim is leaking air, 100% chance its not the tyre if u have it on TWO tyres, cos air wont leak that fast through tyres unless u really got a lobang there more likely its a valve or rim problem which tyre shop u go? suggest u change one, they more like smoke u sell new tyre Edited December 26, 2015 by Furrynadz
