inlinesix Hypersonic December 31, 2015 Share December 31, 2015 Spoke to a product genius at PML not too long ago who took time to explain on the i3 n i8 to me. I'm quite sold on this and impressed with the technology used but yes lack of charging stations mean this car will not sell well here esp since most of us don't live in landed. i3 sold in Singapore has Range Extender. Lack of charging station is still fine. Still can drive at least 600km for 10L tank. i8 is plug-in hybrid. No charging station still fine. ↡ Advertisement
Nzy Twincharged December 31, 2015 Share December 31, 2015 Wah MCF really jin sartki men. 100k is the new insignificance. My definition of loose change is only 1c, or 5c, or heck $1 max. Look at the number of C200 or similarly priced cars on the roads. The downpayment is all around 100k or more.
Carbon82 Moderator January 16, 2016 Share January 16, 2016 Ok tks for the feedback, I'm already impressed with diesel torque but have yet to try electric so guess it would be another level up Agreed on SG being monkey see, monkey do. How is diesel being taxed now in Europe? Thought it was higher than petrol like us albeit marginally only? BTW, thought diesel of today is cleaner than petrol? Cos I'm hearing 2 sides of the argument. I have an opportunity to drive a fuel cell car (A-Class) many years back, and the torque delivery is instant, confirm better than diesel in this aspect. Also the sound, it is so quite till I feel as if I am playing those racing games with sound muted. So I would expect all electrical car to perform in the same manner. Hybrid wise, test drove Civic Hybrid and Prius before, while I can't really say they are better or worst than Diesel in term of pickup, but the car just roll pretty effortlessly once it start moving, making one feel that they are in a car with larger engine capacity. Different pollutants are generated from diesel and petrol driven engines. It is another big topic to discuss, but in a nutshell, in measuring how "green" is a particular model (by current standard), regulatory are focusing mainly on fuel economy and CO2 emission, which is in diesel favour. The much talk about VW scandal is revolving around the NOx (Nitrogen Oxide) emission, which is of much lower level in petrol engine due to the difference in combustion principle. I hope I am not causing you to be more confused...

Abdulwz 1st Gear January 16, 2016 Share January 16, 2016 Maybe families are smaller. Less odys on the road than i expected. Other than the high sticker tag... With COE coming down, more Odysseys can be seen on the road now...

Kteokteo 1st Gear January 17, 2016 Share January 17, 2016 OK, just my opinion based on my preferences. Odyssey would be a good bet, if it fits your budget. The 8 seater version EX-S is around 152k. The third row is spacious, the sliding doors are very useful. The second row has three seats, even when I put two child seats, someone can sit in the middle. The third row is quite comfortable. The new engine is fuel efficient and the 7 speed CVT transmission is neat. All in all, after looking at many full size MPV, this one fits my need the best. You will need to check your preferences as advised by others and then make the final call. The EX-V model is higher end, with 2nd row as 2 Ottoman cradle seats and leather furnishings. Some gimmicks like Park assist and multi cam view, blind spot warning etc are added. However I prefer have a 3 seater 2nd row, which gives me the choice to carry an extra adult or fold the last row down and lug around things. Again... Subjective choices based on each ones needs I guess... I currently have a 2007 Odyssey, very happy with it and will upgrade next year to the EX-S when the COE drops hopefully ☺ I've a friend whom drove the new Odyssey, EX-V. fuel consumption is like 7 km/l :( I've sit in his car before, he is not a aggressive driver...very nice obviously. but will have to anticipate the fuel consumption part. I have driven 2 generations of Ody but never experienced 7km/L. My current Ody left 1 month before scrap could still give me 9km/L of comdined city and express way driving. The older model though was 2.3L but was only 4 speed auto, again still never 7km/L. May be your firend's car has not fully run in ? Dont scare me because i am preparing to buy my third gen ody. I believe 9 km/l is achievable but he told me it is more or less same as his previous Ody (RB1). ...he drove different 3 gen already incl. RA6 :) It is probably he do more city as well. on spec...KAH Motor Ody 12.6km/l | 173bhp | CVT (A) PI version of Ody 13.6km/l | 190bhp | CVT (A)

Ravary Neutral Newbie February 12, 2016 Share February 12, 2016 I'm also looking at MPV for my next ride. I realise now a lot of MPV have their 2nd row as two seater style. Any MPV that has 2nd row with three seaters? Any bros here looking at Toyota Esquire/Noah or the Nissan X-Trail? ↡ Advertisement
