It's normal. Like how everyone believe everything from alternate website

He think the person kenna frame lah.

I believe people use their own judgement from news of alternative or local media.

I dont know if he was framed or not. Just saying people should not believe everything they are told thats all.

Even he (SDP Chairman) smoke cannabis, its still classified as a kind of drugs in Singapore. :yuush:

I know some states in US approved cannabis (grass as it is called in US) smoking.  :ouch-it-hurts:

I'm not questioning anybody's judgement. I'm trying to say don't believe everything at face value. Thats all I meant.

Can share your insider information? Or was it all just an assumption.

Based on the available information on hand including "SDP secretary-general Chee Soon Juan told the paper last night that the news of Mr George's arrest came as a shock." suggests it.

Being framed or not, he is arrested for investigation. That is a fact.

You mean CSj striker again???

White, blue or even red are after all politicians, they may try make paint not so good picture of other party in the public eyes. We just have to trust our own judgement on what is available in the news. Ruling party is the one controlling the media for long time in any country, before we have internet to have the second source of info.... :)

The most recent case is the outbreak of Hepatitis in SGH with several casualties. :(

CNB confirmed 51 yo arrested, but did not name the person.

Quote : "The 51-year-old chairman of the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP), Mr Jeffrey George, has been arrested for a drug offence, The Straits Times understands.SDP secretary-general Chee Soon Juan told the paper last night that the news of Mr George's arrest came as a shock."I have known Jeff for many years and all this time he has discharged his duties as an SDP member and leader with professionalism. He is respected and well liked by his party colleagues," he said."

That's why pap is finding it so hard to attract good people from the private sector to join, and so have to source from the saf generals.  cos as a politician you will be scrutinized and every action will come under the spotlight.  Which capable and successful entrepreneur will want to join politics and lose his freedom ?

The Central Narcotics Bureau, when asked if Mr George had been arrested, said through a spokesman: "A 51-year-old man has been arrested for drug-related offences. Investigations are ongoing."

Also, Straits Times chose to use the word "understands" instead of "reported"

That's because Chee release a statement that is why the media caught on the name.

I dunno what opinion am I supposed to form?

The report states clearly that ST heard that the SDP chairman has been arrested and that CSJ has more or less confirmed it.

And that the CNB isn't saying anything except that a 51 yo man has been arrested. They haven't confirmed or denied that the SDP chairman is the one.

Sounds pretty much like what a news article should be like.
