Will be joining the Serena family in December. Took the Highway Star. The SE that served me is very good and attentive.

No, front can only seat 2 person including driver. The push to the front can only serve as a console or storage. The seating configuration is either 2-3-3 (8 seater) or 2-2-3 (7 seater).

Wow! So exciting to see so many new Serena owners here all of a sudden! So far on the road I have seen a white comforter and a brown highway star. Hoped to see many more on the roads in months to come!

Dear all, may i know how much you are being quoted for the highway star ? Any free maintenance and accessories ?

Price will very much depends on the loan amount and tenure.

Congratulation! I also got mine this time. Thank God. I thought we won't get it since the COE went up by $1.7K. If we don't get it this time, we may need to top up. We can collect the car in mid Nov but we want to wait for SKY and register it in Jan 2016.

Are you planning for paint protection?

Congrats !!!!! 1.7k is still within their profit margin, they are still making 12k+ with this COE price.

SKY sound nice....but We can't wait to get it fast , dun wanna wait. Not doing any paint protection. I am lazy person, something dun even wash car for 6 mths.

Hi all really very hard to choose. Considering Stepwagon, VOXY & Serena.

May I ask weather the rear window can be wind down fully?

Does Highway Star have sunroof for twin moonroof?

Hi, before deciding on Serena, we have also considered Voxy and StepWGN. All three are very similar (window half down) but there are some subtle differences that suit different person more.

Personally, my wife and I feel that Voxy and Esquire looks sporty and fierce. We prefer Noah because of its gentle look but not many PI has it. Serena also has the gentle look. StepWGN looks gentle too and has low road tax but high upfront cost. While deciding between StepWGN and Serena, we felt more comfortable with Tan Chong's T8 than other PI. Also, we value serena's seat flexibility more. Serena has no roof. Also, Serena can test drive while the rest cannot, to make this $140K decision. Serena has the manual door version that can save another $10K for lower budget buyer.

Congratulations to all who have got your COE this time round. They really want more Serena on the road, this is their best marketing strategy. Really great to be able to see more Serena on the road.

Will be collecting my car next week. Can't wait. haha.... [:)]

Sounds exciting. Really tempt me to collect the car earlier. But must keep reminding me that we no need car during school holidays. SKY is more important :-) The sad part is SE wants me to surrender my old car in mid Nov.

Have you ordered the side step protector and window visor? I wonder if there is any stores in Malaysia selling Serena accessories.

actually we were choosing between Biante, Noah, stepwagon and Freed (too small), but both of us being not a PI person and we like the multiple seat configuration. so we decide on Biante.

while we were waiting for biante price to drop a bit more, i chance upon this Serena thread and realize there is another big MPV that is very similar in having multiple seat configuration. so we went down to TC to take a look. although T8 is a PI, but their services is very much AD style. Serena warranty and servicing is under TC.

after comparing and talking to the SE, we book the Serena on the spot.

Serena OMV is higher than Biante (26k vs 18.5k)

Serena back seat can be fold up, while biante can only slide front and back.

Serena have more storage compartment than Biante

Serena is cheaper than Biante and there are no min. loan restriction. any amount also can.

there are no sunroof for either version in Singapore. think only HK and JP have it.

we did not really try out the rear window can be wind down fully, cause we just simply assume it can, thats a good question

No minimum loan? No matter how I argue, SE insisted i loan $30K over one year to qualify for the $1.5K financial discount.

Yes minimum loan 30k for 1 year. That's the lowest I can find besides Honda with no loan requirement. Overall cost taking into consideration the loan interest, this is the most cost effective MPV for this size.

I am thinking if it make sense to settle the loan immediately after we collect the car?

Interest for $30,000 is $686.70.

Penalty for settle in full immediately = 20% of $686.70 + 1% of $30,000 = $437.34.

Saving on interest = $249.36
