Hi people.... I am quite curious....there's a slight flash at near 0:02 if you see clearly, it is not very clear but is that a red light camera? I'm a newbie and I am not sure whether i got caught.

 

I went through amber btw

 

Does red light camera captures speed as well?

My take is: you had crossed the first set of lines by amber, so you're safe. I couldn't really make out a flash.

yes i had crossed the first set of lines by amber, but i was still in the intersection when it turned red..

the flash you see is most probably the white HID headlights on the cars behind you.

 

But yeah, if never contribute to Nation Fund, please invest in a sharper camera (from someone who does not own one). Si mi sai also cannot see.

If there is a speed Camera at the traffic junction, if you speed above 60km/hr, you will still kana summon.

(Example : Bugis Junction area, heading toward Chinatown or towards Lavender MRT area)

 

It doesnt matter whther the traffic light is Green or Amber

I very strongly disagree with the last line. The first priority is to avoid an accident. If it's safer to break a traffic law, then so be it. Apologies/penalties can be discussed later.

 

A serious rear-ending can not only damage your car, but your body itself. And it can also push you into the path of oncoming traffic which will put you and other road users at great risk, not to mention inconvenience.

 

I agree with the need to slow down (just lift off and cruise) and exercise caution around traffic junctions.

From what I gather , but cannot confirm , the camera is triggered if you cross the line 1 second after the lights has turned red . Amber will not trigger .

 

Once triggered , two shots are snapped . And because the timing in between the two snaps are fixed , it is possible to work out the speed that you are travelling based on the distance of your car from the two photos.

 

But I have never heard of anyone being booked for speeding on top of a beating red light offense .

And here, Sp4wn is illustrating why good diction and correct spelling are so very important. Just think about how the meaning would've been altered if an extra 'd' had found its way to the end of 'fine'.

Maybe u can drive on tat road once more to check. I dun see any flash nor anything that resembles a red light camera. Amber lights are fine
