Axela72 5th Gear October 1, 2015 Share October 1, 2015 Another 2 things that I dislike cyclist (used for transportation purposes) is due to their own convenience at the expenses on others are: 1. The lift is occupied by their bicycles while passengers have to either squeeze in or wait for another lift; 2. At traffic junction, once traffic light turn green and pedestrians from driver side has cleared, the 1st car should have the opportunity to turn left. However, as cyclist is faster than pedestrian walking, cyclist from opposite side always reach earlier than the pedestrian which resultant to driver that turn left must give way. This resultant to car driver has to wait until almost the traffic light turn red (after pedestrian from both sides have clear off) before the driver can turn left. ↡ Advertisement

For this point, want to do this better be careful. By right not supposed to turn left when pedestrians are still walking towards your direction. This was taught in driving school. I have been warned by TP before. For pedestrians walking in the direction away from your car, have to wait till they reach the central divider before moving, for pedestrians walking in the direction towards your car, got to wait for them to cross all the way.

How often did u ever see car only made the turn until pedestrian from both direction reach the other end? In the 1st place, if the cyclist follow the rule, they would have push their bicycle instead of cycling when crossing the the traffic light together with the pedestrian. Soya Supersonic October 2, 2015 Share October 2, 2015 Tks bro. This deserves a new category and thread as this benchmark ruling changes everything Guess the benchmark ruling only apply to locals. If the cyclist is angmo, wears a leotard and picks a fight over small things sure exempted one.

Axela72 5th Gear October 2, 2015 Share October 2, 2015 (edited) It is just like what we have learnt from the army. Rule 7, if you want to do it just made sure you don't get caught. Many ppls are not following the rule 100%, just like when orange light shown, the rule is vehicle should slow down and stop but typically driver just accel instead to clear the traffic. When the pedestrian greenlight just "start" blinking, pedestrian should not cross the traffic light, but many pedestrian also continue to go against such rule. Nevertheless, no one would bother if someone goes against the rule that does not affect them. The current situation is cyclist go against the rule (cycle on pavement & horn others to give way or road hogging on road) which taking own advantages at others expenses. This in turn made others piss off. I always wait now. After I got warning from the TP. Anyway 2 wrongs don't make a right. This in turn made others piss off. I used to follow that rule. but now after being warned by TP a few times in my first year of driving for miscellaneous stuff like not stopping fully at stop line, moving off even though there are pedestrians crossing in my direction and changing lanes without signalling for long enough, I prefer to do everything the right way so that I will never get caught. Not that hard isn't it. Just wait for pedestrians to cross. Every stop line just come to a full stop. Change lanes just signal. Speed limits just follow. Doesn't seem to make my life any worse off than those who rush at every single junction, speed at every instance they got the chance to and don't signal just because they are afraid people won't give way to them. In fact, I never have to worry about any driving summons. Btw, when I cycle, I cycle on the roads and if I am on the pedestrian path I push my bike unless its a PCN. If I am crossing a pedestrian crossing, I push across also. But it seems to make some drivers pissed off. Like as if I am purposely pushing my bicycle rather than cycling across so that I can make them wait longer... The boy's 3 wheels sick-scooter can't move very fast (unlike e-scooter). More so after u tabao 2 packs of chicken rice and have them hanging on the handle. No way he can suddenly appear in front of the car driver. At most he is dangerous road crossing. More likely the car driver is sleeping on the wheel. 4

These people discount the frustration of others. As a driver, having seen sometimes blatant disregard for rules from all road users... be they be pedestrians, cyclists, bikers, cars, taxis, vans, trucks, malaysian buses... I too would have honked at the cyclist for crossing dangerously where he wasn't supposed to... I might even have sped off and let that bugger be stranded on the middle of the road if I was particularly pissed off that time... If we are unsure about how others will react to our rule-breaking... maybe we shouldn't break said rules in the first place?
