If they want to enter Cat A, doubt they will use current 1.6 NA. Instead should be 1.0TC.

Agreed bro, that would be the best compromise. Small cc for cheaper road tax n yet powerful enough to be just under 130hp for Cat A. Ideal in my opinion!

Sometimes, the fun in motoring (esp if u drive in Sg >99% of the time), lies also in being able to rev up the engine w/o blowing the license.

I was reading the American forum on 10th gen civic.

Surprisingly the American prefer the NA engine to turbo 1.5 engine.

The main factor is drive and sound of the engine.

The 2.0L is actually come from K20 base engine. So, this is a DOHC engine with reliability proven.

And america has confirmed manual transmission for 1.5T in 2017

 

I think also coz, they can mod over there.  With larger cubes at the baseline, easier to get things done.

The current civic n even the 1.6FD were below 130hp so why not?

That said I know there r a lot of civic fanboys wanting the good old days when civic no horse run with their vtec engines so Kah may bring in the higher hp 1.6 one as well but to Hv volume, the 1.0 version is a must I feel! Best of both worlds to Hv both models imported!

Did anyone visited the PI to see the Honda Jade 1.5T RS model with 186pbh?

This vehicle will show case in motor show 2016.

The Jap always reserve the best for themselves.

I thought its 148ps?  This 1 is special version with 186ps ?   Yep, thats standard Jap practice accross all their products.

I do believe there is a reason for diff spec on the same engine.

i.e the K20 engine spec has so many configuration of torque & hp for USA, Europe and Asia.

Asia has the least bhp but reliability is good. As such, there is always compromise on power and reliability. Since we live in tropica hot and humid region, better go for reliability.

Else, everyone will curse such as VW

As can be seen from JDM Ody Vs Local Ody, though both same cc & DOHC.  I think both DI also.  But JDM has comp of 11.1, whereas local is 10.1.   Adjustments made, possibly due to the heaty asian conditions.  And some countries I think sell 95 as the max.

 

Yep, reliability to be prioritized.

UK has confirmed 10th Gen Civic come with 3 engine.

1.0Turbo, 1.5Turbo and 1.6 diesel engine.

1.0Turbo will have 127bph and 148lb torque. However, the 1.5 turbo will likely be lower bhp than USA configuration of 174bhp

UK also come with hatchback Civic compare to USA sedan model

This coming Singapore motor show if didn't showcase the new civic, then will have wait long long before it hits our shore.

 

If I'm the Kah Motor CEO, I'd definitely bring one from US to drum up interest.

I think is not Kah Motor don't want to show the New Civic for 2016 Singapore Motorshow. Thailand still not yet launch they may not allow Singapore to be the frist country in the Asia to show New Civic.

The 10th Gen Civic has been name the best compact car in USA 2016 in short span after sept 2015 launch.

It also given the top best 5 car in USA which has bitten the muscle car such as Shelby.

It is shame for Honda not to take advantage to bring the Civic for show case this month.

Probably, they will show case the 1.5turbo engine only
