Turbocharged

This coming Singapore motor show if didn't showcase the new civic, then will have wait long long before it hits our shore.

If I'm the Kah Motor CEO, I'd definitely bring one from US to drum up interest.

does it come equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox?  :D

I also hope it comes with a 6 speed manual ! But most likely KM is not going to make this come true as the market for manual transmission is kinda small.

Then again, they did made the Jazz GK5 RS avaliable in manual transmission at a additional $10k down payment.  [laugh]

Hope they do it for this Civic as well.  [bounce2]  [bounce2]  [bounce2]

Turbocharged

Once again, South East Asia always kenna short changed. It's 2016, everybody have internet, will compare specs from different countries and regions. Alas, Honda management still living in the 80s or 90s. Let's hope the Koreans overtake them in the next 5 years. Just like Samsung and LG can kill off Sony, Pioneer, Sharp, Panasonic worldwide.

Well, the same ST report did mention Hyundai Elantra will be turbo charged with 7 speed DCT. So can seriously consider that if 2016 Civic is using NA engine

I do believe there is a reason for diff spec on the same engine.

i.e the K20 engine spec has so many configuration of torque & hp for USA, Europe and Asia.

Asia has the least bhp but reliability is good. As such, there is always compromise on power and reliability. Since we live in tropica hot and humid region, better go for reliability.

Else, everyone will curse such as VW

K20 is a proven workhorse [:)]

Problem is, if they are not going to launch the 1.5l turbocharged engine for s.e.a. market, most likely they will stick to the anemic 1.6 NA engine for 10th gen civic in singapore.

and the 1.6 is not even a K series engine, don't be mistaken.

I remember seeing the ST article on 10th Gen Civic coming SG is 1.5 turbo, 174bhp spec (CVT transmission)

Unless, someone has latest info on Civic spec same as Honda Stepwagon of lower bhp

anyone can comment?

if no TC coming to sg, then have to vote with our feet.

a 1.5T vezel would really satisfy most normal family's needs.

I was reading the American forum on 10th gen civic.

Surprisingly the American prefer the NA engine to turbo 1.5 engine.

The main factor is drive and sound of the engine.

The 2.0L is actually come from K20 base engine. So, this is a DOHC engine with reliability proven.

And america has confirmed manual transmission for 1.5T in 2017

If they want to enter Cat A, doubt they will use current 1.6 NA.  Instead should be 1.0TC.
