Hey Blackyv... think better dont joke on this cibic liao... u n me both kena dislike already... LOL

Aiyoh, why scare?? As if I care about the dislike points.. Only sensitive people cannot accept jokes or simply too brain dead to accept jokes or maybe no sense of humor in life.. Pathetic soul..poor thing..... I poke and joke about cibic Vtec doesn't mean i don't like it... If Honda bring back the old Vtec or sell the 1.5T at around 130k range, I will be the first in q to book it.... But as I said, 1T seems too 'weak' ... Hehe...

This car will sure attract the younger generations to get it! 1.0 road tax will be very cheap and insurance premium for honda cars will usually be higher and can offset abit.

Turbocharged

Is it feeling as turbo charge kick in?

Turbo hit max boost in a semi-linear fashion... VTEC is like a sudden step on the dyno!

I saw his post but my understanding is that both Jazz(export) and Fit(domestic) are MIJ. None are MIT for this model unlike Civic, City, Accord, CRV, HRV etc. and that's why I'm asking.

I stand corrected though as my info is from Kah Motor S'pore not Malaysia.

Honda Jazz is made almost everywhere around the world which have a Honda production plant. Which means most Honda vehicles are NOT made in Japan. Only in tiny Singapore where we are frog in the well, thought Japanese cars are only MIJ or Thailand and nowhere else (cos authorised dealers only bring in from these 2 countries - they can jolly well bring in from Indonesia or Vietnam if they want).

In Malaysia, Honda have a production plant for their CKD (complete knocked down) models for local market which is locally assembled. Almost all major automobile brands have their assembly plants in Malaysia.

Ok tks for the clarification. Good info n yes guess I'm a frog in the well who is also being misled by Kah or maybe I misinterpreted their claim. In that case, a comparison can be made between the various production plants of the same model. Usually we can't do this as the closest comparison between a MIJ car n another MIT one is between different models which is hard to differentiate precisely cos they are different models so not an apple to apply comparison. Cheers!

Yes. It's very subjective but if you have sat in both you will notice the big difference between the MIJ Jazz of SPore and Jazz of Msia!

Doors are hollow in sound when u slam it.

Dashboard rattles

Somehow the plastic feel is totally different from the plastic feel of the MIJ car.

That's my 2 cents....hence if the new civic from MIT and paying sky high prices... Just not sure if it's worth it.

Ok tks for the feedback! Unfortunately I have not sat in a Malaysia Jazz yet but will certainly lookout for this when I go up north since I now know there are differences.

I get your point but the current Civic is already MIT and so far not heard any poor feedback on quality though some negative comments on this car compared to the FD series. We shall see then but this new Civic is highly anticipated and it could make or break the local AD if not priced correctly but then again they may be more interested in bottom line vs volume.

The current Jazz, the model I saw in showroom also not completely MIJ.  8 mths back, when I open the bonnet, looked at raditator, it had the label.   Keihin.  But....followed by Made in Thailand.

In the Mz3 thread, I saw a post where an mcfer mentioned the friend's power window faulty.  Dismatle, found the faulty part, MIC.

Previous Gen 2 Jazz's omv peaked at 22k (2011) iirc MIJ.

Now this new Jazz is also 'MIJ' , but is.... cheaper (omv 15.5k), better (18.9km/L) & faster (132ps).

I really cannot tell Vtec kick in on my current Civic 1.8, only can feel more noisy when boost above 3k rpm, :serious-business:

however for TC, once ramp up to 2k rpm above, obviously feeling push back :yuush:

the boost gained from a VTEC kick in is smaller than a turbo... [shocked]

Only the Type R ....100hp/litre  type of high lift cam vtec will feel the shove.  The regular vtecs only just lifts higher after crossover, but does not qualify as a Type R style high-lift cam.

Just to clarify, the Turbo charge and VTEC is totally different technology.

Turbo charge is force induction. You'll feel the surge of power especially high boost type such as STI, AMG etc

Some car only has small turbo charge (low boost) such as Citroen DS series, new Honda spacewagon etc

VTEC engine in Honda is still a NA engine.
