Turbocharged

wah, 7 secs only,

even faster than Passat 1.8T DCT, Forester 2.0T

unbelievable :omg:

due to lightweight and seamless ratio. The 10th Gen Civic is probably much lighter than both of those cars... and the Forester's high ride height also affects its aerodynamics.

IMO, turbo engines has been dominated by Conti for the last 3yrs in normal 4 doors sedan.

JP car is slow in reacting to the market demand and have lost out the last few years.

Since JP is coming back on TC, we as customers has more to choose and support the JP in this region

Honestly, I am happy Honda can challenge the Conti in making the good B&B car.

At least, JP is honest with the specification unlike Conti claiming wonderful FC but no valid on normal drive.

Not mentioning the dieselgate.

This actual tested result, I believe official release speed should be less than 7 secs, let's say 6.5 secs, which is racing car grade

I'm a Civic owner myself (FD) and having owned 6 other Jap cars before, I like this Civic the most so I've high expectations of it.

Just that I'm hearing some negative comments on CVT, so getting some feedback on it.

That said, I'm not sure if the perception on CVT being lousy is based on real experience or just hear say. And anyway, the modern CVT is different from the old days.

I'll definitely be taking a look at this car when it comes in and perhaps test drive if I'm serious in considering. Price being a major factor though.

The FD is really hard act to top ... ticks all the right boxes [thumbsup]

Tks for the video!

If I didn't see wrongly, seems like there's no flat floor for the rear which if true is disappointing cos a few generations of Civics hv this which was particularly comfortable for the rear passengers.

I have owned 2 Civic as well .... EK and ES.

The EK was using the CVT and I have no complaints about the GB except having to change the transmission oil every 20,000 km. The EK remain one of the favorite car that I have owned. I still miss the car after all these years.

The one step backward ES was a disappointment as I did not want a MIT Civic and choose not to wait for the FD. Regrettably, the FD was MIJ and I should have waited.

I am sure that the CVT has improved over the years ... even the latest WRX is using the CVT as well as many Jap made.

The 20k cvtf oil change, was it drain half n refill with new cvtf, or complete drain out n refill (just like eo change)?

Then you should be asking all other FWD cars why they also don't have a rear flat floor.

To be fair, Civic was one of the first few FWD cars to come out with this. I read some reports saying this new model is lower compared the last few generations and hence they can't do a flat floor. Not sure how accurate those reports are though.

0-100  in 7 sec is U.S spec or Euro Spec?

I believe would be U.S. spec, this new tenth gen Civic hasn't officially made a debut in Europe.

Furthermore, European Civics are somewhat different, since they seem to prefer hatches in Europe.

this one will be 2016 Civic strong competitor, same time import to Singapore in Q1 2016

its price will win civic hands down and c/w AWD [thumbsup]

Will depend on which variant of cibic comes also.

The Sub looks like 200 kg heavier than cibic.  Also AWD.  Together, FC likely higher.

I see.  I actually love the Euro civic HB look.

If U.S spec, maybe can use the Sylphy SSS pricing as a point of ref, then add a 'premium' can roughly agar agar the cibic price.
