Just got my COE for the 1.6 FL. ride coming later July. Was wondering which iRoad model is provided by KM? Was thinking if worthwhile to uninstall my Blackvue with CellLink battery and keep as spare?

I received a x9 with the CRV, though I know the cheaper models like the Jazz get lower end cameras.

Iroad is okay so far. If I didn't get it free and knowing what I know now, I would probably invest in another brand though. It works okay and quality seems okay, but the app support seems getting worse and worse.

Hello, I got a Pioneer HU 9150 in my current ride. Thinking of dekitting and installing the HU in the civic 1.5 turbo. Is it compatible, or anyone tried something similar before? Tks!

Neutral Newbie

Hello, has anyone upsized their 1.5 turbo civic rims to 18"? How's the FC, acceleration, performance, etc? Is it worth the upsize?

Do you use the highway often? Iâm getting like 9 plus only/km.... 80/20 city/highway.

My usage pattern is similar to yours. I get about 8-8.5l/100km. I usually try to pick up speed and then release throttle so that the green light comes on as soon as possible. Sometimes being too conservative with the throttle will end up using more fuel.

I’m driving the 1.6l version. To get such figures, you need to plan your route ahead in terms of when to overtake and which lane to travel on to avoid unnecessary braking. I do sometimes rev the engine, so one doesn’t need to be too light on the throttle all the time. Try to maintain about 5-7l/100km range while cruising (refer to that bar below your speedometer).

hi,

i don't own a civic. but i have seen civic with 18'' rim. Definitely looks better.

no definite answer to your question.

say u upsize from 16'' cast rim to 18'' cast rim, they are heavier and your fuel consumption will suffer. U will likely get a more bumpier ride as your tyre will be of lower profile. But your tyre should get wider, meaning u get better grip when cornering.

Of cos if u get 18'' forged/flow formed (more costly) rims, it might be even lighter than your 16'' cast rim. So you won't suffer the weight and FC issues. Acceleration could be even faster

Is this that strip of light at the top of the dashboard - which either glows green or white? If so then now I finally understand what it’s there for

Yes that's the light I'm referring to. Don't be too worried if the green light doesn't come on even as you cruise along. If I remember correctly, the green light just indicates that the engine is in lean burn mode (12 valves mode). There's a slight difference in engine note between the 12 valve mode and 16 valve VTEC mode. After a while your ears should pick up the difference without you looking at the dashboard.

What is more important is the fuel consumption meter below your speedo. As long as it's hovering around 5-6l/100km, you are doing fine.

I’m driving the 1.5. Apparently it doesn’t really have a VTEC engine despite the label. I presume the green light means something else in that case.

For those driving the 1.5T PI version, can share which dealer you bought from and how was your experience with them?

I see from sgcarmart only a handful of PIs carry the 1.5T.

Also, the PI version is almost $10k more than KM. Besides 10bhp more, made in uk and hatchback, it does not seem to have any major difference between PI and KM?

Does KM sells the hatchback version now?

Supercharged

Yes. That is there purely for marketing reasons.

Technically, no VTEC.
