10th Generation Honda Civic (2016)

If you look at the general buyers point of view, actually it received many positive reviews, such as the sporty looks, large interior space and boot, rear air con and the new generation infotainment system.

However car nuts, experts like many of us tends to look a little further in terms of expectations of a new model. Sure definitely it's better than the 9th generation, but it lacks some sophistication and quality as a new model, compared to the FD series when new.

I think it's hard to gauge the popularity of the FC series now since it's very new. (official launch and first batch is only 2 months ago, which is August). The first pre-order was started as early as April. Thus the average waiting time is about 4 months. Mine is a wait of a little more by 4 months. From what I heard, the next batch of new owners to get their keys would be December.

And ya, can't compare with the Corolla and 3 sales which has been in the market for 3-4 years. And both models are already due for mid life Face-lift next year.

I agree. When the FD first entered the market, it reminded me of the first iPhone. Remember how u pinch to zoom using iPhone?

The way it capture / captivated the market

Though I was driving (somewhat) a more expensive car (picnic, pls don't laugh ) , I drooled at early adopters of FD, especially FD1.

Power, efficiency everything.

Waoh..such exaggerated accolade - FD is not game changing and nothing particularly innovative about it. Unlike the iPhone.

Can't be done if the Coupe is purely for the US market - you cannot register a left-hand driver vehicle except under special circumstances such as being a diplomat.

Well, if you have the cash, you can convert a LHD car to RHD car.

Like the case of the only DeLorean registered here.

Question is, are you willing to pay for the price of the conversion, import fee, etc? And is it even worth that money for an ordinary car?

Probably he referred the generations before the FD series as the PDA phones, while the FD series was the iPhone.

I think the Civic 1.6 would do well in SG, similar to the Altis. Most buyers won't know the engine is based on an older design, or what CVT is (there's only auto vs manual).

And at a $110k price point, it is of good size, looks sharp , rides relatively well and has a few gimmicks (CarPlay) to entice buyers away from the Altis (dull in comparison) and Mazda 3 (tight interior in comparison. Also, the Honda brand still holds some value in the minds of its target market although it lost a bit of spark over the years.

Yes. Mine came with Rikecool.

Will car cabin cool down fast enough when park under hot sun? BTW, think our civic aircon quite cool.
