10th Generation Honda Civic (2016)

Turbocharged

The 10th generation Honda Civic debuts in USA and is made in USA. Japan does not sell nor manufacture civics anymore. Even the currently ongoing Tokyo Motor Show does not feature this Honda Civic. So we'll see if Singapore either imports from USA (that is if they manufacture right-hand drive for overseas market, which I highly doubt), or get from Thailand (if they get the blueprint to mass manufacture for their local market).

On the other hand, there is the 2015 Honda Civic Type R hatchback made in UK for European market. (Yes, hatchback is still very popular in Europe). This Honda Civic Type R is a totally different design and model from the 10th generation Honda Civic. It's similar to the same predecessor hatchback type R Kah Motors brought in some years ago. It is definitely NOT the Japan-made sedan FD2 type R and has no connection to it.

And yes, this European Honda Civic Type R hatchback is showing at the Tokyo Motor Show as we speak.

wah!

the new Civic is really worth looking forward to... :a-good:

regret to book Vezel leh :TT_TT:

:D  :D there is no regret medicine in the world,

but fom another perspective, you at least saved more than 30k, assume your Vezel at 110k, but new civic at least 140k above, if Euro 201hp version, should be 150k over,

The civic is a global platform so all other countries will be receiving the same base. Interesting that there are so many levels of tune for the 1.5T. Sounds like the aftermarket potential for this engine will be promising.

Kah Motors will bring the civic in for sure as the civic is their core model. Find it strange that Japan doesn't have a JDM equivalent of this fine looking machine as they always keep the best stuff for internal market.

Euro civic should b 6mt. Doubt even the heavy duty cvt of oddy can tahan 260nm most of the time. Secali, AD civic usa cvt. PI civic euro 6mt. Sounds slighly similar to arrangement of the colt R...10 yrs back.

Yep. Due to eco of scale. I suspect eventually, most hondas will b using these tc engines in various state of tune to suit intended targeted segment of the car. High chance g2 vezel/hrv....g4 jazz...haha

There's a 1 litre version producing 127hp coming out as well and this will fall in Cat A but not sure if Thai will produce this?

definitely this civic cannot fall to Cat A,

it's premium category instead of B&B cat

The current old 1.6L Civic at AD already fall at cat A. What make it so different this time that it must not fall at Cat A again? unless like in the past, they come with both 1.6L vs 1.8L & 2L one.
