poresia 2nd Gear April 24, 2019 Share April 24, 2019 Lol dilemma now. Don't know if should change to 16" or 17" rims! Any idea how heavy are the stock elantra 15" rims? i choose 17" over 16" bcos i think not much improvement from 15" and 17" looks more cool. difference. not sure about any big difference in other factors like road holding, fuel consumption. i guessed not . much difference so personally i dont see worth to spend the $ to change from 15" to 16". just my personal call.
Devilcup 3rd Gear April 24, 2019 Share April 24, 2019 personal i like more comfort ride... i opt for more thick tyre which mean only 16inch... hard to find good rim at 16 inch... road hold is very good for 16... 17 rim must be light rim else fc will super suffer. Selesurge 1st Gear April 24, 2019 Share April 24, 2019 Just checking ..... The late 2016-early 2017 S model...boot can only be opened via driver side lever and remote?? there is no button to open it from the boot itself? I am not sure as I got mine from the resale market and can open the boot only via the key or the lever in the driver cabin. Also I am thinking of swapping the factory installed headunit with my pioneer AVH-5850.... anybody got pics to share how it would look like after swapping? i am curious to see if it would really be flushed

Ldlian987 3rd Gear April 24, 2019 Share April 24, 2019 (edited) Hear say abt 8 to 9kg If i'm going for the 16" i would probably get OZ Superturismo GT. But they only have 2 colours, black or grey. I prefer silver because my car is already grey and if the rims are grey too they won't stand out. It is 9.02 kg. I don't see any other rims with similar design and silver in colour. https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&initialPartNumber=W01895352MG&wheelMake=O.Z.&wheelModel=Superturismo%20GT&wheelFinish=Matte%20Grey&showRear=no&autoMake=Hyundai&autoModel=Elantra+Sedan&autoYear=2018&autoModClar=Limited Only 17" Superturismo LM has silver. It is 9.2 kg. Per rim is about 200g heavier than 16". 4 wheels will be 800g. Of course still need to include the different in tyre weight (225 width vs 205 width). Decisions decisions lol... https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCloseUpServlet?target=runWheelSearch&initialPartNumber=W0188120419S&wheelMake=O.Z.&wheelModel=Superturismo%20LM&wheelFinish=Silver%20Painted&showRear=no&autoMake=Hyundai&autoModel=Elantra+Sedan&autoYear=2018&autoModClar=Limited i choose 17" over 16" bcos i think not much improvement from 15" and 17" looks more cool. difference. not sure about any big difference in other factors like road holding, fuel consumption. i guessed not . much difference so personally i dont see worth to spend the $ to change from 15" to 16". just my personal call. It's rubber covered. Shine a light under the handle. You'll see a black patch. Press it, it will release the boot lid.

I got a feeling that the older S trims lack a boot open button. Its abt the same as 15. But, for a start, I think the 15 is heavy. I took my spare out to keep in storeroom. It's definitely not as light as I tot it will be. Agree on 16, i discourage ppl to change out stock 16 as it's already 205, which is a decent amount of road contact compare to stock 195. Btw, current 16 on Avante S and Elite is the same as Elantra AD Elite
