BenChoo69 2nd Gear September 7, 2015 Share September 7, 2015 (edited) Went Japan last month and saw this cute bright cute MPV or a so called "compact minivan" TOYOTA SIENTA. Always like the cute small compact cars in Japan when ever im there. Saw so many nice accessories there too. Heard my PI bringing in and price is S$ 10x,xxx Told me better price than a Wish. Like the range of colors they provide.... maybe should check out the Hybrid if he does bring in. http://youtu.be/pZJSrus1ros Nice " fun car" to have for family outings too. hitlerson21 Clutched September 7, 2015 Share September 7, 2015 "Heard my PI bringing in and price is S$ 10x,xxx" this sounds like an advertisement to me. Did considered this before and in the end, didnt buy it. Because the space for 3rd row is ridiculously small.

Guaranteed delivery in Jan Hup Long Sienta G-Model @ $112,800 is quite cheap. Can consider. Today visit to Car Times for Sienta. They quote the X model. Too costly. Maybe they think I am a sucker. More expensive than G model of Hup Long. Anyway, I just want to confirm on the actual car and 3 row seat condition. It is a nice car.
Kteokteo 1st Gear September 28, 2015 Share September 28, 2015 i went Autolink to view the Sienta Hybrid G spec, selling $120,800. I was told they throw in all options 1- highest spec including Toyota Safety Sense C http://toyota.jp/sienta/safety/active/ 2.- 8 years warranty or 150,000KM. workshop is Optima Werkz as they are one of the more well known workshop whom can service hybrid cars. Forgotten to ask incl. battery warranty, but i guess should have. Can ask again to confirm. Impressive fuel consumption spec of 27km/l. I was told by the salesperson they have already sold 3 hybrid version till now. http://www.ow.sg/index.html 3. Will throw in Taiwan made 15 inch rim, not the factory one though. Pioneer HU with reverse camera. 4. If you compare 3rd row with the older model, there's improvement...see here. http://toyota.jp/sienta/compare/ I'm 1.76m tall and when tried 3rd row, still fine. Your foot can rest flat and at right angle, not like Wish. Same for your knee, at right angle. 5. Overall length/space loose slightly to Wish. Engine capacity 1.5L can be under powered when fully loaded for sure but still can move lah 6. Test drive by Toyota HK 7. Reviews by Japanese automotive journalist. http://en.responsejp.com/article/2015/08/08/257537.html http://en.responsejp.com/article/2015/07/09/255299.html 8. See more info here http://toyota.jp/sienta/ Conclusion is if you are use 3rd row occasionally, this car seems to be a good buy comparing to a normal sedan which cost about the same price. Running cost is definitely low either with hybrid or petrol version.
Zavi 1st Gear September 28, 2015 Share September 28, 2015 (edited) Yes cartimes pricing is on the high side. This is a good car for people looking for a MPV with budget. However it may be too compact for full family needs. Good for those who only seldom needs to use the third row. 7seater Clutched September 28, 2015 Share September 28, 2015 wondering whether Hybrid version is workable. Are PI workshops able to troubleshoot? Complicated situation with motor and engine? What are your opinions? Heard there are 2 types of PI. 1 is direct import from domestic Japan dealers. Another is getting from a main supplier in Singapore. How true not sure. Smaller PI practice the later. Any one can share? Who are the good PI that you can share, please list here. More secure that will not run away and deliver their promise. Thanks. First time want to try PI cars. Kiasu a little.
Zavi 1st Gear September 28, 2015 Share September 28, 2015 I asked the car workshops. They said depending on your usage rate. For me, usage rate is low as mostly between home and office. So the petrol version. Not that much savings from the hybrid, and don't need t to be burden with the unknown cost of hybrid battery. From what I know, optimal werkz and sime darby service centres are used by a lot of PI cars. So far I've only bought from AD, so no experience with PI. Kteokteo 1st Gear September 28, 2015 Share September 28, 2015 yes true, if you don't clock long distances, hybrid doesn't help save petrol cost. I read from other Prius forum, seldom mention of battery failure. The battery is designed to last at least 10 years. What I'm still worried is the electronics within the hybrid system. If this went kaput, don't know the repair cost. Maybe next time anyone got a chance to take SMRT Prius taxi can ask the driver for experience ↡ Advertisement
