Spring Moderator April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 (edited) Ath Madrid feel hard done by last night by the refereeing vs Barca in the UCL quarter finals. Umpteenth time I've seen refs favour Barca in UCL. The Norwegian ref who denied Chelsea 4 pens in their semi final years back was the most glaring. Whilst I got no proof on this and as I always say decisions will even itself out, can't swallow this as its a k/o competition and the amount of decisions that go their way is unbelievable! Anyway, rant over but only strengthens my belief that UEFA favours the old boys clubs esp Barca http://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/apr/05/atletico-madrid-barcelona-luis-suarez-filipe-luis Edited April 6, 2016 by Spring ↡ Advertisement

Yuan 6th Gear April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 Actually I happy for Giggs. His determination, dedication and commitment could be paying off soon. Giggs is no Guardiola. Has not even coached the U21 or youth teams of Manchester United before. Let alone leading these teams to silverware and honors.
Osprey23 Turbocharged April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 Then Pool should move in for Hart but I guess this will only happen if and when City actually captures Stegen. I feel Hart is an upgrade on Mignolet. Frankly bro, it is too easy to upgrade on Migs. The questions I would ask is in terms of age, price, and wage, is he the best option. Still strongly believe the new No.1 will be a German. I want Ter Stegen but if can't get him, Horn or Karius are good alternatives.

Let alone leading these teams to silverware and honors. True that but maybe he doesn't need to go through that? Last time also common for players to step up as player/manager then manager. He has the chance to play for one of the best modern day manager and now, learning from experienced managers. More importantly, I do feel that there must be something that SAF and SBC see in him and feel confident that he will be the right man to take over

Newbie26 Hypersonic April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 Barca is everybody's lover boy, play beautifully, score lots of wonder goals and of course not forgetting the mesmerising Golden boy of football is in the dream team Natural bias will be there Having said that, sometimes perceived favouritism is not exactly true. Really depends on position of referees and linesmen and reactions of players etc and many say all these poor decisions even out over 38 matches Ath Madrid feel hard done by last night by the refereeing vs Barca in the UCL quarter finals. Spring Moderator April 6, 2016 Share April 6, 2016 My often stated "is running a football club a business proposition or is it about winning silverware?" Classic example on healthy bank account but unhappy fans: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3526238/Newcastle-announce-32-4m-profit-year-ended-June-2015-director-Lee-Charnley-admits-results-pitch-matter-most.html I know which I would choose but admittedly u also have to balance the books so I'm not saying spend like no tomorrow and anyway spending doesn't necessarily guarantee u success but u can't deny that operating a football club involves spending $, often more than the norm n the caveats of how you run a business doesn't apply. So Mike Ashley, your pocket may be full but your club is going down, sorry!

So Mike Ashley, your pocket may be full but your club is going down, sorry! To be fair to Ashley, I think we need to point out two issues. Firstly, the club owe him £129m which is given as an interest free loan. Second, the reported profit is at financial year ended Jun 2015. Newcastle spent close to £80m that following summer. His pocket full? Maybe but definitely not from earning anything from Newcastle.
Maxus-MIFA9 Supersonic April 7, 2016 Author Share April 7, 2016 Man City getting a 2-2 draw at Paris will be massive in their quest to progress. If PSG comes to ManCity and get a 0 - 0 or 1 - 1 draw, they are out ... I simply just hate Ibrahimovic cos of his attitude. Always think he is the greatest of all footballers ... . At the age of 34, still wants to demand a $300K pound per week ....
