65% of Fox win by the margin of 1 - 0 .... :secret-laugh:

That's why I always believe a championship winning team must have a sound defend. Liverpool 13/14 proved that once. Leicester proving it this year.

Another thing to note is that despite the Man Utd fans calling for his head, LvG could well deliver another UCL for them this season. Just 1 point off top 4.

Problem is , MANU shd not be fighting for UCL place but for the title. UCL shd be a given.

leicester could be 10 pts clear by the time spurs play again with 5 games to go.

man city. manure and surprisingly west ham in the running for the final champ league spot. manure seem to have the easier run in. shitty seems to have given up hope?

spurs vs manure will be key to both their seasons. nail biting finish.

Expectation is that there will be more Leicester like stories in the coming years due to TV money beefing up the spending power of the whole EPL. Those nearly teams like Stoke, Southampton, West Ham, Everton maybe able to attract some good players which will give them better chance to break into the top 4 so exciting times ahead.

Admittedly, Leicester is a strange story cos they hardly spent big money and their buys have been budget ones and they were not even in the top half of the table last season. Kante and Mahrez will surely attract bigger teams so we shall see how Leicester handles this.

leeds is over spend and couldn't make it to UCL. they spent top dollar on mediocre players like seth johnson and robbie keane and a over the hill fowler. end up being crushed financially.

bolton was pretty decent under big sam. used to do wonders with mid tier aging stars to give them a new lease of life. like youri djorkaeff, jay jay okacha etc.

sad to see them that way.

next will be newcockster to follow in their footsteps

Leeds spent future money ie they budgeted for qualification to UCL and spent the budgeted money upfront and when they didn't qualify, it meant they had overspent.

No club should assume they qualify for Europe as can be seen with Chelsea most likely not able to qualify this year and maybe United or City not able to qualify for UCL as well.

Newcastle shouldn't go the Leeds way. Ashley is too prudent for this but they may have a prolonged spell in the Championship if they don't bounce back quick but I believe they are in good hands with Rafa so even at worst they go down this season, IMO they will bounce back soon.

That's the beauty of EPL :)

Any team can beat any team, and this season, any team can be at the top half :)

yeah. true

not so optimistic about newcockster though

there is something fundamentally wrong with them, but i just can't put my finger on it. morale issue more than a tactical issue i guess.

Actually, there are a few teams whom we can't put a finger on what is wrong or right eg what went wrong at Chelsea? How come Leicester can be so strong etc.

Whilst I also don't know what went wrong at the Magpies, what I do know is that Rafa can organize teams well so should be a matter of time before they get the playing side of it correct. I didn't feel he was the right fit at Real but I do feel he should be able to get things right at St James Park.

As for Ashley, he was a tight fisted like a typical businessman but to be fair he loosen the purse strings during the Jan window and was in fact the top spender IIRC. Problem is you don't get good buys in the winter window so maybe have to give him a another window but worry is if they drop down, he may naturally get tight fisted again, good luck!!

hmm... Suarez to Man City

imo that can only happen if Augero goes the opposite way

You may not be as familiar with Pere Guardiola as you are with his elder brother Pep - mainly because Pep is better in every single way. He’s taller, better-looking, richer and more talented - it’s a bit like Danny Devito’s and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s characters in Twins. So you can imagine how excited little Pere will be when he sees today’s Sunday Express, which states that Pep wants to work together with his sibling on a special project.

Under the headline, “How Pep Guardiola plans to lure Barcelona star Luis Suarez back to England”, the paper explains the incoming Manchester City manager’s big summer transfer plan. It doesn’t involve getting Suarez drunk - Pep is too classy for that - but rather it centres around Pere, who runs the Media Base sports agency which represents both Suarez and Guardiola.

You can imagine that Pep only gets in touch with Pere when he wants something - and on this occasion it appears that Pep believes his brother can set up a meeting with the Uruguayan striker, which will give Pep his opportunity to convince Suarez that City are a better club than Barcelona. It’s probably best if Pere stands by with some strong alcohol in the event that Plan A doesn’t work.

Manchester United also have ambitious summer plans, with the Daily Star Sunday claiming that the Red Devils have made Everton’s £45m-rated midfielder Ross Barkley their “top transfer target”.

Someone better warn the 22-year-old that Louis van Gaal might still be the club’s manager by then, with the Sunday Mirror reporting that the Dutchman is already “laying down plans” for United’s 2016/17 season and that United chiefs “remain committed” to keeping him on for the final year of his contract.

All of which is sure to annoy Jose Mourinho, whose move to Old Trafford is being stalled by the Glazer family, according to the Metro.

Chelsea will be offered £72.1m to sell Diego Costa to the Chinese Super League, and about half that amount by Atletico Madrid for the same player, reports the Sunday Times. Roman Abramovich better sign up Diego to a Mandarin course and get him interested in the teachings of Mao Zedong sharpish.

The Blues are also being linked with Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster as a potential replacement for Real Madrid target Thibaut Courtois, says the Sun on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and Everton will battle for £22m-rated Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette (Mirror), Edinson Cavani has put Chelsea and Man Utd “on alert” by demanding transfer talks with Paris Saint-Germain (Mirror) and Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan has “moved a step closer” to signing for Arsenal by doing some house hunting in London (Sun). Although that could also mean he might be signing for Millwall, or that he’s moving into the lucrative buy-to-let market.

Not sure if he was capped by Germany also. But he has been very good.

Huth has been capped by Germany before and there is recent talk by Low that he is aware of Huth's current form.

Huth left Chelsea for Boro IIRC and then subsequently left for Stoke.

He was not really outstanding in those 2 clubs. Strong defender but not particularly outstanding nor quick but his fortunes seem to change at Leicester which goes to show Leicester's strength is the sum of its parts rather than individually players with the possible exception of Mahrez.

Huth and Morgan have been helped by protection offered by the excellent Kante and perhaps Drinkwater. The former's workrate and tigerish winning back of the ball excels the aggressive Wanyama, Coquelin and other DMs by a mile!!
