Osprey23 Turbocharged March 27, 2016 Share March 27, 2016 Hmmmmmm. Lukaku. IMO he should stay 1 more season at Everton and try to have a monster season to prove to everyone he is equally caoable at a big club. He is like Benteke, someone who thrives being the focal point. But he is not yet as accomplished like Drogba yet. I fear he will sink in the face of pressure at a big club. Players like him have to have a truly breakout season before they leave for a reallu big club. Don't think Bayern suits him anyway. I think in a recent interview, he said he is already 23 and would like to play in UCL. Also added that going back to Chelsea would be cimplicated. Expecting him to move this summer but Everton have shown that they are no pushover when come to transfers in the way they held on to Stones last summer. This summer, they will be in even lesser pressure to sell. ↡ Advertisement
Osprey23 Turbocharged March 27, 2016 Share March 27, 2016 Liverpool's central midfield will be undergoing overhaul in the summer. Only Can is safe. Allen is likely to rejoin Swansea in search of game time and with BR rumoured to be returning, a reunion with his former boss is a possibility. Hendo and Lucas will be offloaded if there is interest to take them. With Grujic already in, Klopp is still looking at the Empoli's loan pair of Zielinski and Paredes. On top of that, Matip's teammate Goretzka is heavily linked as well.

mersaylee Hypersonic March 27, 2016 Share March 27, 2016 I wonder why there's no new thread on Germany-England friendly... Only watched the highlights and the new squad affirmed my belief that days with Rooney as the marksman are over. Look at how Spain thrived after they ditched their golden boy Raul... The 3 goals from the royal lions were with dead accuracy. I'm glad to see the good old Push-Run-Shoot English football once again.

Osprey23 Turbocharged March 27, 2016 Share March 27, 2016 Other than Pool, Man City are supposedly clearing house also. Kompany, Yaya, Bony among others, are to be axed. http://soccer.nbcsports.com/2016/03/26/guardiola-cleaning-house-at-city-toure-kompany-bony-mangala-to-be-sold/

After Germany took a 2 goal lead they laxed off since this is only a friendly If only linesman/referee had not erred on Gomez opening goal, Germany would have been 3 nil up The good refreshing thing about the England setup is that they have some young hungry lads who have the pace and also the determination to run at defenders The win is a real confidence booster and given everyone a belief that they have as good a chance as anyone in summer euro. Rooney has played too many years of football since 16 years old and past his prime. But his leadership can be impt during major championship

That said, modern game has to be more sophisticated than that though I think no harm mixing it up abit esp as this is England's strength! Young guys did well esp Alli. Hope he doesn't end up like so many before him, great English hope only to fade away later. Good luck to England in the Euros
Scion Turbocharged March 28, 2016 Share March 28, 2016 Tottenham has nurtured some fine young English players (Kane, Walker, Alli, Dier, Rose) Other teams should adopt the same policy if England national team is to become a strong force in Europe

I could be wrong though but I assume EU citizens will be subjected to work permits like the rest of the world??

I don't know if it's a good thing (with Spurs nurturing a lot of young English players) or a bad thing (with England being so dismal at Int'l tournaments over the previous years)

Spurs merely provided him a bigger platform to step up and perform. To be successful at the NT level, I feel that the FA would need to do more rather than the club. Are the u-16 to u-21 coached to play the same system, the same philosophy? If not, it will be very difficult for them to build and sustain a team capable of performing at the highest level consistently.

Spring Moderator March 28, 2016 Share March 28, 2016 (edited) I know I'm old school...ever played 4-2-4 before...luckily I was one of the back 4. Always pity those 2 with vast area on the field to cover. Watching them run oredi very 'chuan' let alone play that position. Wha confirm you old school!! haha These days even 4 in midfield gets overrun and that's why most teams have 5 at the expense of a 2nd striker. Game has changed a lot from the earlier days. There are some positives from the modern game but the old days had it share of good play as well One on one was a delight to watch as we could see pure skill n pace skin a full back alive but these days of doubling up restricts this which you can also take it positively as being better organized than before.
