Don't like the way Pool playing in the second half. Going to ground too easily and quite a number of simulations.

It seems like an instruction as it is not just one or two specific players.

Job done. LvG didn't get the record he wanted.

Man Utd basically came with the same strategy. Using Fellaini as the outlet. This time round, Pool handled him better. Didn't let him settle on the ball. DdG is really good with his distribution. Passes to Fellaini most of the time pin point.

Pool dominating in the first half, the pressing and movement are all good. Creating chances but can't find the finishing to beat a top class keeper.

The pen awarded is soft if you ask me, worse than the one given against Benteke that day. Second goal was a gift from Carrick. That touch was horrendous.

Not sure if this is the first time for Pool to deny a side zero corner in Europe. Got to check

Just saw some clips on Fellaini elbow on Can at the end of game. I don't think he will play in the return leg.

That was disgusting

Fox news latest : Arsenal sign U17 World Cup winner

Nwakali represented Nigeria at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile last year, where he was named the tournament's best player.

The deal is thought to be worth around £3million as Arsenal beat a host of rivals for the teenager midfielder's signature.

Speaking to allnigeriafootball.com, Nwakali confirmed: "I just came back from London, I have signed a five-year contract with Arsenal.

"So many teams were interested in me but it has been my dream at a tender age to play for Arsenal."

The move from Nigeria's Diamond Football Academy will be finalised when Nwakali turns 18 in June. He is expected to be joined at Arsenal by Nigerian teammate Samuel Chukwueze.

Klopp was impressed with the fans, saying that he enjoyed the atmosphere and that's what he knew about Liverpool before he came. No just Klopp, I think the Man Utd players were pretty impressed too.

Worst match played by spurs this season. Strange decision by poch. But kns if dun like this europa should have just get knocked out last round and just fully concentrate on league

Ya, even if Poch thinks that top 4 more or less guaranteed, should still try to do well. BVB second in table also but they are still treating this tournament seriously.

Majority of MU fans hope too. He was among the poorest of the poor this morning.

Really? LvG said he is one of the best performer for Man United wor.

If LvG insisted on going long to negate Pool's high press, Fellaini is key. Without Fellaini, this plan can't work

Fellani is useful when MU pump long balls forwards, draws defenders to make space for others. But to achieve that, the team must be able take (some kind) of control and possession, which was non existent. He got one chance of "almost free" header in the box and headed wide. Other than that, he did little else but went round poking people's backsides. LvG told the players to get horny, didn't he.

Football pundit wrote ..... [smash]

Sky Sports : Is Fellaini Van Gaal's blindspot?

"I have to say Fellaini was one of the best players on the pitch," Van Gaal proclaimed after the defeat - cue social media eruption in amazement.

The imposing Belgian played in his usual abrasive style, and was a useful tool at the back when defending set-pieces, but otherwise he was a microcosm of United's lack of cohesion, and didn't seem to know where he was playing.

He was by no means the only weak link in the United side, but the stats hardly add any resonance to Van Gaal's claims. Fellaini won less than half of his duels, won only one tackle all game and lost the ball 20 times - the joint-most of any player of the pitch.

And the most damning stat of all - without Fellaini, United have won 68.4 per cent of their matches in all competitions since the Belgian's arrival at M16; with him in the side, it is a 34.6 per cent success rate. Ouch.

LVG still thinks Fellaini is the best ... :a-m1524:
