Migs agreed a new deal at Pool that will keep him till 2021. Just waiting to put pen on paper. [Paul Joyce]

Klopp explained why Caulker is the best option for Pool. Short term loan - needs EPL experience. Pressing game - needs last line good with headers.

Villa can beat Palace sia :slow:

About time they get a win but might be too little too late.

can't believe Liverpool youth academy can't produce a decent center back even as a backup?

If got time, go watch imo the best goal from last night - free kick from Payet for West Ham. Absolute beauty.

We do have decent back up in Gomez and Ilori but with the kind of injury record and the way we always get bullied by physical sides, Caulker might be a good short term fix.

I am happy with this loan deal. No risk, additional body, offer more physical presence.

Caulker doesnt raise a heartbeat when the news were released.

anyway, this deal sounds like a insurance measure rather than anythiing much deeper. Once the centerbacks injury crisis sorts itself out in due course, it may be hard to see any real game time for Caulker, unless he proves Klopp that he can be quicky developed.

I actually did - watched a few games together in the morning.

You're right. Payet's was really great. Valencia's one is on par too imo.

The common denominators are that both free kicks went in at the exact same spot (top corner) and are extremely difficult to save, and also that the goalie both times dived v nice but arm not even stretched out. Either he kelong'ed, or his physics+maths v good, already mentally calculated confirmed, 100%, guaranteed, chopped, stamped cannot reach one...

Either way, he's plain lousy.

Yes and both sides almost score many times too. I watch only 2nd half. Newcastle put pressure attack in first 25 mins in 2nd half then both side went to balance

That rooney shot is taken well.

Liverpool agree deal in principle to sign Schalke defender Joel Matip on summer free transfer. (Dave Maddock)

Another transfer target secured

Bro how u rate this new signing?

Matip is a good defender but if I could sign one CB from Schalke, will be Howedes. He is better.

Matip I feel might be better as a DM due to his pace and athleticism, can cover more ground and protect the back 4 better.

So I really not sure what is Klopp's plan for him. If as a CB, I feel we can and should get someone better. If as a DM, I think he can do a good job.

Looks like earlier report of Pool having 30% on Shelvey sell on fee is wrong.

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/634168/Revealed-real-amount-Liverpool-receive-Jonjo-Shelvey-12m-Newcastle-move

Apparently only 10% of the profit made by Swansea. In this case, could be just £700k

Hope shelvey will bring newcastle move forward and avoid relegation to finish as mid table position :)

What a half. Fast pace end to end stuff. Firmino is lively and could have got his hattrick if that chance late into added time is a few inches lower.

Both teams presses well but Arsenal's buildup play in the final third definitely more threatening. The second goal from the corner could be better defended I feel but full credit to Giroud for taking the chance so well.
