Seems like this Conte is a JM no. 2 so ex Chelsea player Sutton questioning his appointment.

http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35965091

Italian football expert Gab Marcotti also says the players got tired of his methods, hmm sounds familiar?

Do you appoint a sergeant major type of head coach to keep reign on the big egos or do you get an Ancelotti, Ranieri kind of coach with a softer touch? Tough choice!!

He looked more beautiful than Mourinho. [:p]

i wonder if the current crop of players, esp those with prima-doll inclinations can cope with a strict discipliarian like conte.

his track record is good. but the player power at Chelsea are no joke.  Just imagine having the Beast (Costa) angry and flashing his teeth at you... even as a manager... also cold sweat!

Chelsea have a particularly strong dressing room. If you can remember AVB was practically forced out though he's also not up to mark IMO. And recently even JM couldn't handle this and hence you can understand why the skeptics questioning this appointment. Do you fight fire with fire?

Like bro O23 and you mentioned, Conte is a good coach, good track record though only in Italy but will he be another combustible character, time will tell. IMO, he should sign on Terry for another season and get him onside as this will be crucial to win over the dressing room!

Apparently, Klopp has requested for 2 big names who are not in the scouting department recommended list. FSG willing to back him on his deviation.

Now is whether he can convince them to join. No info on the players but can't wait for Klopp's revolution to begin this summer.

Got clues on the names? Must be damned expensive if they are big names ...

even rafa has issues with the dressing room during his short interim manager tenure...

there are mega ego personalities in there.. the manager who loses his cool easily may not help matters...

i think terry is probably past his prime.. but good to have any season if he is prepared to become a squad player and aid conte to transit over.

No name given at this stage bro.

Since Kloop took over, info leakage has been tighten a lot. At least no more directly from the club.

Nowadays, only very few sources I can trust now. Those who got fed directly from BR camp no longer has info. :D

According to Dutch paper De Telegraaf, LvG will be allowed to see out his contract at Man Utd.

Which means he will not be axed this summer if true. De Telegraaf also reported that he will be given €100m to further strengthen the squad.

Giggs most happy. Seeing the light at end of tunnel liao

Alex Iwobi has agreed a new £30,000-a-week Arsenal deal keeping him at the club until 2021. (Source: Daily Mirror)

Looks like a good prospect. Wenger might be striking gold again?

The reliable jornos definitely have their own sources. So when they report something, should have legs in it.

Those itks are getting info from different sources and since the change of regime, a few of them I find are no longer spot on.

A few left whom I trust got to know targets way before those jornos.

In any case, what I gathered from them is that:

- The 2 big names, one is a striker.

- Gotze we are interested but might not be that close to a deal that jornos are reporting.

- Promising youngsters Klopp is fighting with other big clubs are Pietr Zeilinski, Ousmane Dembele and possibly Marlos Moreno.

Ter Stegen: "We'll see at the end of the season what my situation is and then we'll talk. Deal with Man City? No."

If I were him, I won't go to City cos it would be "out of the frying pan into the fire" situation for him esp if Hart doesn't leave. Despite Pep's apparent preference for Stegen, Hart's advantage of being the incumbent n not doing anything significantly wrong plus home grown plus the need for Stegen to settle down means he might not be automatic first choice. Whereas at Pool, it's quite obvious Mignolet is not consistent n not being English means Stegen has a better chance there, my 2 cents.

Just have a feeling he is the other big name Klopp wants. Committee recommending Horn and Karius, due to massive price difference.

Just let me dream :D

You have a point. Wherever he will be, he will be granted the No.1 spot. There is no reason to leave Barcelona and become a No.2 elsewhere. Pep wants him and will certainly guarantee him starting berth and even Hart wants to stay an fight, likely to be a losing battle. Hence, if Ter Stegen really joins Man City at the end of the day, I expect Hart to leave.

Then Pool should move in for Hart but I guess this will only happen if and when City actually captures Stegen. I feel Hart is an upgrade on Mignolet.
