Biggest casualty in Klopp's summer clear out is likely to be Benteke.

Crystal Palace are reportedly keen.

Better sell him while he is of some value ...

And can't wait to see new players into Pool :)

Like I mentioned, buying a DM is possible but not a.striker... no striker was on the market..DM there were some but not sure if they are a step above coq

True Leicester has not won but they are showing that money is not everything

Then you mentioned that there were no opposition and both ozil and sanchez preferred london... but for ozil, spurs was competing and sanchez had pool in the mix...if you say you don't expect arsenal to compete with the rich clubs then aren't pool and spurs the opposition?

Do you really think the reason sanchez refuse to go pool was solely because of london?

In my opinion, there are DMs and strikers that are better or at least of Arsenal caliber. I feel Wenger knows this but he just says no cos he feels the price is not right. All boils down to value, Wenger's value. Of course there will always be some who don't want to join but my point is I feel he doesn't want to get into an auction which is his prerogative I guess. If Chelsea or City were to want Ozil or Sanchez and start showing $, Wenger will withdraw. Can't prove this but it can't be disproved as well.

It's been reported Sanchez prefers to join a London based team in many papers. I do not know more so I can only tell you what I read and it was repeated in different papers at that time.

Anyway, at that point of time and still now as well, Pool and Spurs are no match to Arsenal both in terms of chances of success and also financially speaking. Any sportsman will tell you that you should be having high benchmarks so if Arsenal is looking at Spurs and Pool as their benchmarks and not the big boys then it only confirms my theory. If the mentality is City, Chelsea n Real throws silly money so I'm out of here whenever a player comes into the fore than sorry to say Arsenal is bottling it financially as they are on the pitch now.

Apologies if my words are harsh. FYI, one of my best buddies is an Arsenal fan. I accompanied him to the Arsenal v Everton match at Stadium last year. He has some even harsher words for Wenger but he's a true Gunner and sticks to his team no matter what but he told me time is up for Wenger if we don't win this year........

Odds are favouring the foxes with the remaining features.

However, hoping to see the decider only during the last round...either LC or TH as champion. It's about bloody time for smaller player to helm the BPL top spot.

Big guns big names big expenditures not a guarantee to win trophy. All should have learned from Chelsea who used to assemble a squad full of big names and all acted like one and the entire team flawed with limited game time.

Yes big names don't guarantee success for sure but it does gives u a better chance of success n statistics have proven this to be so cos all the previous Champs were teams who spent heavily. No low budget team has won the title before though Leicester may buck the trend n good luck to them on this.

For all the talk of Chelsea imploding n they have to be fair, they do have few titles, FA cup, League cup, UEL, UCL n Super Cup in their trophy cabinet that u can't begrudge them. So what was it u saying on money can't bring u success?

Leeds United has won the league on their first season in the EPL... if I dun remember wrongly. I was still in secondary school then.

Leeds won the last 1st division title.

In the EPL era, only Arsenal, Blackburn, United, City n Chelsea have won it.

Blackburn won it once when the rich Jack Walker invested money in the team. Sutton n Shearer were the twin terror forwards, the midfielders sherwood, Wilcox N goalie Flowers were all big signings.

Agreed with the historic data that big clubs with deep pockets clinched more trophies...

My take is such. There's a long period of lows in Chelsea history after the first departure of the special one. Then came along 5 or 6 big names after him with many big guns in the squad but only managed a couple of domestic cups until Di matteo spectacular single season stint with a champion league title.

JM got sacked with almost the same heavyweight squad he had last season that made them reigning champ...Drogba is dearly missed for his ever inspiring and hardworking runs on the pitch.

Arsenal should hire Mourinho as manager

and promote Wenger to football director

Wenger concentrates on making profits for Arsenal and developing the youth academy

Mourinho concentrates on winning trophies

everyone happy

Ah Seng has combined business and football well, IMHO

From a selling club not so long ago when the club is burdened with debts from the new stadium to reportedly 400+mil in their account today. Won a few FA cups along the way. Perpetual presence in UCL and more often than not into the round of last 16.

But then the paying fans with the tickets priced highest (or among the highest) in EPL want more for their money or ego.

This season with top teams so erratic is the best chance but blew it in the recent games with the final nail at Old Traffold when they could not deal with teams comprising of many kids.

Much as I appreciate the relative success he brings and the way his team plays most of the time (choked only at vital games), a new manager is probably what the gunners need next season.

If this report is to be believed as it comes from the Sun newspaper, the top European teams including the big 5 in England may form a breakaway league. This has been mooted many times before but so far nothing concrete. What is definitely happening is that the big teams are trying to press UEFA into a closed UCL for the "old boys club" which I've mentioned before.

Money, money n more money! So selfish of these clubs just cos they got the history n $

That's why unlike most fans, I love it when a sheikh comes in to buy a non established club to try n ruffle the old buys club feathers!

They had been trying to form this Super League since the early years of UCL.

Their efforts intensified when UEFA changed the pairing system for qualifying and seeds system for the group stages.

AC to has too stepped up their lobbying since they have trouble to qualify for the UCL on their own.

These powers worrying about freak pairing or balloting would result in their early elimination. They don't want party crashers like Atelico, BVB, Napoli and now the Fox or even Spurs to spoil their chances to earn millions more.

Whenever this move announced in the media, it was always condemned by the football neutrals and purists. But then Lust and Greed know no boundary.

i dun think they two of them will get along very well.. based on their past conflicts and confrontations lol

"specialist in failures" haha...

WBA pull 'handbrake' on Leicester.... :a-no:

2 - 2 draw this morning .. :yeah-im-not-drunk:

the last 10 games of the season is usually the most stressful in a season.. especially when you are in front of everyone else.  heard that Leciester has begun to show some signs of pressure cooking in their play. I actually saw that in their last game vs norwich too whereby they won with a last min goal

too many over-performing clubs have choked in the final runway to the finish line - liverpool, newcastle etc.

now, let's see if Leceister can overcome these pressure and serve up one of the miracles in the EPL history :) from relegation-fighters to champions!

You are right that Milan is one of the chief protagonist of this Super League cos they have gone backwards and it's been aggravated with Italy only having 3 places in UCL, thus they have missed out on the riches for few seasons already.

You are also spot on that the seeding system change added to the push for the old boys club to accelerate this Super League lobby. Hope you can understand why I've always ranted against this closed door party which is harmful for football in general if just the same teams participate without giving smaller teams a sniff of a chance to be included.

Of course biased supporters of those clubs will be happy but if you are a true football lover, you will appreciate that the game thrives on upsets and smaller teams able to make dreams come true and long may this continue. The advent of the Premier League and UCL has already made it difficult for the small teams, let's hope this Super League doesn't make it a permanent closed door for others......

It took EPL about 4 years to "break away" from FA for its formation in 1992. But then it was more internal affairs between the then Div 1 and FA, without involvement of UEFA and other FAs.

If these clubs were to break away, I am sure UEFA would use all means to stop them as UCL is probably as lucrative as EPL, maybe more if you per capitalise the game. UEFA and FIFA have the power to sanction games and players transfer for their "affliliated members" If the clubs break away, would they still be under their affliliations?

As different countries sign their TV deals at different years, e.g. EPL's new 3 year deal start from next season. I am quite sure that the deal are conditional to EPL in its present format. The same should go for other FAs.

Just to get them free from TV deals at the same season would cause enough headache for all involved as well as other interested parties such as the respective FAs, UEFA and most importantly the sponsors.

If it ever to materialise, it would still be years down the road. Maybe these teams are playing poker and use it to gain more leverage.
