Osprey23 Turbocharged November 6, 2015 Share November 6, 2015 (edited) I think papers just linking pool with players klopp tried to sign before Yes bro. Pool have been linked to too many players in the press and most just don't make sense. So for now I am just going to stick with what my sources have mentioned. If I have a say, I would like to see Pool buying backup full backs. Clyne and Moreno virtually playing every game and if they get injured, I don't even know if there is anyone in the academy who can step up now. Spring Moderator November 6, 2015 Share November 6, 2015 CR7 doesnt like JM but in an official interview, he is not going to speak his mind. You could be right but that big ego CR7 is not shy to speak his mind. Though it's an official interview, based on his track record, he'll at best remain silent if he doesn't agree or beat around the bush but not answer the question directly. Last thing he will do IMO is to talk up somebody if he genuinely doesn't believe in this. Same for JM. If what I said is true, I've only respect for him cos that's the way it should be. Bound to have disagreements in football and life in general for that matter. So give credit when credit is due and speak your mind if you disagree rather than remain silent or worse still be a yes man. My take on JM is that there's no doubt he's a good Mgr and is one of the best but that doesn't mean I agree on his methods of achieving it. Siege mentality, hounding of officials, disrespect of opponents are not the hallmarks of a great Mgr and that's why I say he is good but not great. To be great you need to be more than successful. Likewise for players to earn "World Class" tag is not just being a great player, my 2 cents.....

I guess his mentality more or less same with us. Don't like him for whatever reason but can't deny his achievement as a manager.

Osprey23 Turbocharged November 6, 2015 Share November 6, 2015 (edited) so really no FBs... except for enrique... guess really need back ups then........ but you all may need another DM too? Just hope that our first choice pair can remain injury free at least till Flanno returns. Then see if there is suitable deal in the Jan. Gomez can be a decent back up at FBs too but also out this season due to ACL. DM wise still a little blurry. Neves is the name I heard but he is more of a DLP, rather than a holding destroyer. Trying to second guess Klopp here. With Firmino and Coutinho, I am not sure if he might want to play 4-3-2-1 with them rather than 4-2-3-1, which will have to sacrifice Coutinho to the left. So if he want to keep both the Brazilians central, 4-3-2-1 is the only way to do it. If this is what he has in mind, then I see the point of having Neves as the DLP. Pair him with 2 shuttlers on each side and that 3-men midfield can work. One on the left is Can. Right side so far is Milner but frankly he has been disappointing in that role. If Klopp wants an upgrade, there is someone in Dortmund who he can try to poach - Gundogan. Or actually, maybe can save the money as I believe Hendo can do well in that role. If Klopp still want an option for 4-2-3-1, which might explain why we are keen on wide forwards such as Sane and Klopp's desire to recall Markovic, then the midfield 2 I feel might need to have a destroyer type to anchor. So far, nothing heard on that. Maybe Klopp is trying to prove me wrong in trying to get Lucas to be that destroyer. Strikers already got 4 unless offload first else I don't think we will move for another Come January will be clearer. Klopp is still getting to know his squad and I don't thinking he has made up his mind on who to bin. Neves is a strong recommendation from Ljiders while Sané I think we already wanted him last summer

So far, nothing heard on that. Maybe Klopp is trying to prove me wrong in trying to get Lucas to be that destroyer. I have the impression that Klopp played the 4-2-3-1 in the last couple of games. I think it definitely allows more offensive play and links up in the final 3rd compared to the 4-3-2-1 in the 1st few games. I think Lucas is the natural DM in this set up. Can and Henderson can play alongside him for sure. Milner maybe. I think the destroyer role is perhaps too defined and in the absence of a true blue destroyer. Klopp may compromise with both deep midfielders carrying some weight in this regard. Lucas seems a player totally transformed under Klopp. Good thing BR did us a favor by not selling him away. I think the forwards behind the striker lacks a bit of width. ideally, I would have played at least 1 winger. But, Klopp is making do with no .10 in lallana, coutinho and Fimino. Milner is a makeshift winger at best and hardly a no.10 player. If Ibe continues to show form, he should inherit one of the starting berth soon. He offers something missing from the squad at the moment. The ability to take on defenders in dribbles and to drift wide (instead of infield).

I still think balo is a good striker, Italy national ..... then you have sturridge and beneteke and ings ok mah... 2 English nationals with unbeaten record in euro qualifying and Belgium international striker all are stikers in top 10 countries in the world except for Italy at 13, Belgium is 1st, England is 9th.. not too shabby lar...... 4 good strikers but no world class strikers.... arsenal only have 2 lor

Osprey23 Turbocharged November 6, 2015 Share November 6, 2015 I have the impression that Klopp played the 4-2-3-1 in the last couple of games. I think it definitely allows more offensive play and links up in the final 3rd compared to the 4-3-2-1 in the 1st few games. League games are 4-3-2-1 bro. So far only the 2 Europa games he set up a 4-2-3-1. Milner is the wildcard. In leagues games, Milner playing deeper as one of the midfield trio. In the Europa, he played much higher and out wide. Ya, really glad we kept him. No point selling if can't get an upgrade. Yes, Lucas can be the holding anchor with 2 shuttlers beside him. However, with him anchoring, the 2 shuttlers have to coordinate their advances. If both pushes up at the same time, Lucas will have problem. That is the main issue I have with Lucas. The most crucial thing that Ibe brings to the team is pace. Other than him, only our FBs possess it. I like how Klopp is easing him in now. Let him get game time in the Cup games will be good. League games I feel is still too early for him. Next season I feel will be the earliest he can make an impact in the league. Happy to be proven wrong :) ↡ Advertisement
