F430 1st Gear August 17, 2015 Share August 17, 2015 I'm pretty sure the PML 1 series model is now where near the pic posted, the one on the pic has m sports trimming and the large screen (NBT screen) even the 320ed doesn't get that, unless you go for the highest 1 series model Just trying to poison him. Almost everything can retrofit, except maybe the seats.

inlinesix Hypersonic August 17, 2015 Share August 17, 2015 Looking at the idrive screen, very sad le :( To retrofit it cost $10 (i think).
Nicepal 2nd Gear August 17, 2015 Share August 17, 2015 Just trying to poison him. Almost everything can retrofit, except maybe the seats. Pml claimed stock 116d not able to do nav. SE told me the stock car was not order with nav so cable not even there.. ;) To me the idrive screen size quite ok. Already bigger than my gps i bought 10yrs back and also bigger than my iph6+. All new beeemer comes with Connected Drive. And the 116d comes with runflat tyre and active pressure sensor (should have unless I misunderstood with the series 2) that can see and the screen. Able to display 2 meter showing the Torque & Power like in those sports car... Haha kudos to you if he does get poisoned lol Wait for coe bidding then see how. Am sure pml will sure tell u do outside warranty void.... Take car, do pPS enjoy then see how... ;) Do later, pay later = spend later....n;)
Lava 5th Gear August 17, 2015 Share August 17, 2015 no need to retrofit idrive with nav function. just get a portable gps will do. idrive on my previous 116 blackout twice when new and stayed in pml for 4 days each time for checking. thereafter, still blackout on and off and need to reboot 5 mins later. the 1 is a nice car to drive if you no need big boot space to ferry your stuffs. but again handling is different from those front wheel drive. I was once nearly lost control with the car inside multi story carpark on wet surface. my sis spent $1.5k just to update her nav map on her 520, not worth it provided if you have the extra cash to spill. Nicepal 2nd Gear August 17, 2015 Share August 17, 2015 I agree. If not free, i thk pml will pay sky high as SE mentioned is factory fitted. So to make the car looks "competitive", they bring in without. Guess will use phone for the mean time and if really need, garmin will be next. Much cheaper and can find ways to load custom maps with traffic cam n speed cam notifications (i think)...
Nicepal 2nd Gear September 3, 2015 Share September 3, 2015 Not sure if I am spamming forums, just wanted to post what I posted on the other forum so as not to drive people away to another forum just by pasting links.. ;) Just collected my 116d yesterday evening. Really make you felt exclusive. Not only is a car collection but they have a "Car Collection Room" for customer where they can tell u all about your car and even let you ramp the fumes without creating smell.Below is Day 1 first impression cos only 56 km and (28km at car collection)1) The engine is much noisier than the demo car. Be it inside or outside. Thus I guess their demo car they probably have put more insulation to that. Standing outside does sound like taxi "tackling" away but not as loud as theirs. I stood outside and ask my SE to start the car during my demo at pml didn't hear such noise, hopes the run in will reduce it.2) The engine. Comfort or Eco pro mode, for family or non thrust- thirst guy. Sports mode, feel more like a car to me.. 3) When driving, noise of the diesel engine whether noisier than the petrol engine? Can't really tell much difference if lesser as still can hear, maybe my ears are not that sharp.4) the car is small. I cannot imagine having a adult sitting behind me when I drive. Because I stand at 1.81m tall. Thus I have set Memory 1 for alone driving and Memory 2 for fetching people at rear seats. If fetching my whole family and inlaw, we still can use the other old estima so not a that bad. Else I may have leg and neck cramp after a whole day drive. Probably smaller car I will need to drive lesser to fetch colleagues when during lunch time. .. so meaning more mileage for my own use..5) Fuel consumption will shared at later stage after I drove much further. PML/BMW gave 1 Full tank. I guess either their margin is good or diesel is so much lower than petrol. As my daily to work/home will run around 60km, I think I will only visit the diesel station probably two weeks later as the meter estimate I can drive probably another 662km.Sales Person, not bad and pretty good. "Certified Sales Consultant", that is his job title... I guess all SE is good when come to selling, I will know more when aftersales or much later. I cannot comment much as this is my 1st beemer and he is my 1st bmw Sales Advisor. If anyone is looking for a referral, i am happy to. I am not related to him nor looking for a kickback from him. So its at your own comfort. The most I probably get a free coffee the next time I see him. Will keep all posted weeks to come, provided I am not too carried away by my new toy and forgotten to come back to post..

Kxbc Turbocharged September 3, 2015 Share September 3, 2015 I am thinking of a 3 series. But since i am the only one in the car a 1series may be more practical for me. if i am going to be the only one in the car, i'll choose a mini over a beemer. personal choice but i think mini has more character.

Nothing against Mini, ruling it out because its image to me is like a kiddy car.
Nicepal 2nd Gear September 3, 2015 Share September 3, 2015 hmm 1 more thing to add on is . Though the Car Seats Upholstery given FOC, but they are not Leather. (I also didn't ask how much will the leather cost). After a night and this morning drive... I find the seats felt warm.... compared to the leather seat from my estima, my estima felt cool after drive off but the beemer upholstery felt a little warm even when drive from pml to tuas area....;(

It's more durable and easier to maintain from what I understand and read but I'm not sure of the feel though. If not mistaken, PML normally gives real leather only to the Luxury version if there are 2 versions available eg 216 business will get Sensatec whilst Luxury version gets real leather. it's fabric right?

They are pretty hard and sturdy.. No issues with it. Sometimes drive long back ache
