Blackyv Turbocharged August 1, 2015 Share August 1, 2015 Someone decided to poke my weird theory again. No problem, go ahead Those who listen to my weird theory of graduated demand already saved themselves at 15K since the CNY period. And definitely, I will be saving a lot more when I buy my car in the 2016 - 2017 period. So, for most hoping for car prices to go down (by proxy of COE prices), from now to Dec, prices should stabilize as demand at this price band comes in. For under 52K, next year please. With potential of overseas assignment neg and my car ends on Jan17, I'm betting on you and will wait... .hehehe... ↡ Advertisement

Latio2005A Turbocharged August 1, 2015 Share August 1, 2015 Field Report as promised. I went to Leng Kee today (2-4), and tested three cars (will not reveal what cars i tested, for some privacy- ok?): a. Mazda - many people. a lot of talking, a few signing. b. Kia - quite empty. A few viewers only. c. Mitsubishi - quite empty. More sales reps than customers. Sales rep said they had 100 bookings for outlander the previous week. d. Volks Wagon - quite empty. e. Hyundai - drive past. Ok ok crowd, not sure any bookings. f. Kah Motors - not many people. More sales reps than customers. Not many serious buyers, from what i see. And also swing by Nissan at Bt Timah on the way home around 4.30 to 5.00 pm. Nissan - about 10 potential buyers. Also more sales reps and 2nd hand dealers than customers. What is my take after this trip? Not rosy for COE price. Hope i am right. Live from Car Showrooms….signing off.

Latio2005A Turbocharged August 1, 2015 Share August 1, 2015 (edited) Ya. Honda cars are mad. Imagine my honda odyssey cost 96k when I bought it. Can't even get a jazz now Hondas are always "atas" in the pricing. City is going for about $104,000++. With this amount,we have other better choices abound. Civic is close to $120,000++. Crazy. Corroboration. i, like many, am vested in the sense we want COE price to taper downwards before going in. I beg to differ and would take it as a signal to BYCOTT the showrooms and STOP the buying. Lead the car distributors to their graves and watch in amusement as they fail to hit the annual sales quota set by the manufacturer and get stripped of the exclusive distributorship status.
Doomax 1st Gear August 1, 2015 Share August 1, 2015 Got glimpse at Ford/Peugeot or Subaru? Was at Ford yesterday to look at the $99,9999 Ford Focus. I would say the crowd is the same as KM. No queue for test drive.
Spring Moderator August 1, 2015 Share August 1, 2015 I beg to differ and would take it as a signal to BYCOTT the showrooms and STOP the buying. Lead the car distributors to their graves and watch in amusement as they fail to hit the annual sales quota set by the manufacturer and get stripped of the exclusive distributorship status. I admire your stand though I find it a tad idealistic as this kind of boycott needs the support of almost everyone which as we all know will not be possible as there will always be buyers which are willing to pay and as such break ranks. Whilst I won't call a car a need in Singapore, it is very close to being one for many reasons for various people and as such the limited COEs with the ever present demand exceeding the supply means that a boycott is almost impossible to succeed but nevertheless I support your call!! ↡ Advertisement
