He has not eaten for the past two days. He refused any food, even his favourite corn. Also refused to drink any water syringe fed to him.

My wife made an appointment with the vet this evening. She cant bear to see him go on like that and wish to end his suffering.

Goodbye to our last rabbit, Snuffy. It has been a wonderful 13 years.

will be sad to let him go but it will be in his best interest.

Side track a little. My aunt have a cat for 19 years (YES, 19 and it was just 3 months short to 20 years), and during the last week before it pass on, the cat has been very weak, lying in one corner of the bedroom, not eating (last 3 - 4 days), and not really sleeping too.

What happened was that one of my cousins was overseas for work, and the day she touched down, rushed home and carried the cat in her arm, and within 1 hour or so (I was told), the cat took it last breath.

Although cannot be proven scientifically, but animal, just like human, may want to see everyone before they "go"...

i believe there is some truth because i experience it myself

one night my rabbit was screaming like no tomorrow

woke me up and i took a look at her

carried her in my arms in the early hours of the morning

she quiet down but breath heavily and then in less than an hour pass away

we buried her in church ground

May you and loved ones find comfort with the fond and warmth memories you’ve shared with your beloved pet.

Feel your loss...

Despite our efforts with two different vets...my daughter recently lost her adopted hamster too.

Sad to say, he passed away on his own. We reached home and he is gone liao.

Sad, RIP. Hopefully he can reunited with the younger rabbit.  [:(]

We have packed all rabbit leftover food. If anyone needs it, drop me a PM. To take everything, cannot choose. Got food, treats and hay. We are keeping the cage, food bowl, water bottle and litter trays.

If no one collect by this weekend, we will give away to HRSS.

Regardless what you contemplate to keep as a pet, the main thing is that you and your family must be of one mind that it will rely on you 100% so you must be prepared to love and care for it to the best of your ability till it passes on. And you must also be prepared that you are likely to spend a good amount of time and money on its medical care, especially during its twilight years.

Good luck.

every night i would let my rabbit out and feed him snack while i clean up his cage. It has became so routine that i have actually forgotten to spend quality time with him.

Somehow through this thread, i learnt to appreciate my rabbit more through stroking and patting on his head while he enjoys his treat.

It happens to everyone. We always take things like these for granted till they leave us and hit us badly.

For me, a very bad medical issue happened to one of my cats when she was still young and at her prime. That jolted me considerably, that she is so vulnerable and that I will have at most only 20 years with each of them.
