Toyota Sienta 2016

As for test drive, so far I noticed Autolink allowed....but that was on a hybrid, not sure they have petrol version for test drive.

Can I check how many people did you test drive with and how is the power/feel of the hybrid drive? Also, if you don't mind me asking, what's the OMV (just a rough figure will do) and the CEVS rebate? Asking because I am considering this as a more affordable option compared to the triplets/stepwagon :)

Dscheng,

Black looks nice too  [:p]

Same here was deciding between a Vezel and this although it is a different class of comparison but the pricing is so near...and decided to get the Sienta Hybrid G.

Did you check with Exodus, $114,999 comes with what options....the model is your picture is a G model (higher grade). the X model is the basic grade. you can quickly tell as X model has 3 knobs in the centre console. Also I don't think $114K comes with the Toyota Safely Sense C option.

Precisely, i also feel black is suitable for sienta. standard accessories lo, guaranteed COE with no topup, leather seat, kenwood or alpine HU. Ya i dont think have toyota safely sense C option, but what is that? Haha, the delivery date should be before CNY 2016.

That is what the sales quoted me.

Hi Limweeli

You can read my earlier post on 17 Oct....answered most of your questions just that CEV is 15K.

also posted some reviews from Japan on 15 Oct, go read some of the differences. i decided on hybrid based on those and the test drive itself.

The petrol G model versus hybrid G model is only $1K difference so I chosen the hybrid.

Good car to transport elderly/ stroke. Wheelchair space at the back, sliding door.

Good for bringing the big dogs out for dinner date at Siloso beach.

Ugly but utilitarian.

Thumbs up.

Visited Autolink yesterday and was quoted $120,800 for Hybrid G with LED package and Safety Sense C.

Was really quite surprised with the space in the 3rd row compared to the other small MPV (ie Kia Carens), powered sliding doors, flat floor and the fact that the 3rd row could fold flat beneath the 2nd row liberating unobstructed space behind.

I am concerned about the warranty support as this is a PI hybrid car. Warranty support is 8 years / 150,000km from Optima Werkz, there have been good and bad reviews from them.

Anyone have any idea if AD have any intention to bring them in? (a la Alphard / Veilfire) FYI Toyota Hongkong have brought them in to sell but only petrol G version. http://www.toyota.com.hk/en/new-toyota/sienta/

PS. anyone managed to get the factory 16" option rims? that rims really lift up the whole vehicle appearance.

I remember asking BM some moons ago whether they bringing in Sienta, the answer was "No".

Also if brought in by BM, you can be assured price will be much higher.

I asked the similar question to Borneo Motors, they claimed there is no market for Sienta and in fact they will bring in the Facelift Avanza  :a-confused:

just went Autolink to sign on the dotted line today. bought a Hybrid G White $120,800.

Surprisingly today they have test drive car....so I went for a test drive. While we were there, few couple came to view and test drive as well...seems getting popular.

I have 3 adults and 1 child (incl. the salesperson) sitting in the car. Not too bad, of course just driving around all the small roads around Turf City (with some slopes). So for my family of 5, the performance is decent...and since I probably have my in law once a week/while we think this car makes economic sense.

the boss shown me what the workshop Optima Werkz covers...clearly stated everything that they covers and what's not (as wear and tears).

so caveat is within 8 years must go back to them for servicing. if no big issue, the regular 10k servicing is like any standard petrol car $100++(oil change and stuffs).

OMV is around 21/22K.

roughly i guess the yearly depreciation would be around 11K per year.

delivery in Nov/Dec.

Very curious why you did not want to add a few Ks to get a Nissan Serena instead?

Remember that this was the company which, once upon a time, believed that as long as they didn't bring in the Wish, nobody would buy them since they were only available from PIs.

At least they still had the Picnic back then. Good luck to them for thinking consumers will fall for an Avanza just because it's sold by them.

Hi ah_pug

Yes so i bought the hybrid G model from Autolink too.

I'm worried initially as well but they shown me Optima Werkz warranty booklet on what's covered, what's not.

Also on the fact that I've seen many Toyota hybrid around and checking on Toyota Prius club too, it seems the HSD system has been very reliable. I know Honda previous IMA has some battery failure issue. My colleague actually drove one 2006 Civic Hybrid from KAH motor and had a battery failure before think it is 3rd or 4th year, KAH motor replaced it for free.

I think Richburg is the pioneer in bringing in Toyota Hybrid models. Another of my ex-colleague bought a Estima 2.4 and then changed to Estima Hybrid later which he said has more torque around city.

The other reason why i put my bet on hybrid is because between the petrol G model and hybrid G model, it is only 1K difference.

Yes the factory 16" option rims is nice and agreed with you that it really lift up the whole vehicle appearance but I guess will be 1K+ if ever ship to here.

i test drove the avanza 2 years ago....only got one word to describe...floaty...if there is such a word.

Serena is not exactly few Ks more la bro. its easily 10+K more. then again we are already spending 100+K here, so whats another 10+K right...

that said, for me i prefer something smaller and lighter,...for obvious reasons.

As a matter of fact, I am beginning to even question whether i really need an MPV. Often times its just me and my wife driving to work. My 3 kids join us only during the weekends and in fact the 2 extra seats are seldom activated even with the maid in tow. Some how everybody seems to be able to squeeze into the back seat and the extra seats are better folded in order to carry more inanimate stuff. I realise we tend to prepare for something "just in case"..aka over catering...and end up paying more than what we should. Thats the reason why I am even looking at mid size sedans now....particularly the diesel variant ones after realising what many diesel bros realised moons ago.

Alas I thought i knew what I wanted when i started out searching my for next big thing recently but i soon realise with each test drive, it becomes more and more elusive. The problem is compounded by the fact that cars are crazily expensive in Singapore and most of us can only afford a single bullet - so it has to be one shot one kill. no 2nd chance.

Hey Heartlander, yes i believe Serena basic 8 seater is 129K. Really close to what i bought since I added almost all the options. The basic X model is much lesser though.

I got shot down by my wife, no boxy MPV [smash] ....in fact i was targeting StepWGN...basic is 139K...even Voxy and Esquire she don't like. What to do? But just look into other area like Sienta hybrid low road tax, low fuel consumption 27km/L (on spec)....etc.

BTW I know Serena is not a true hybrid system. Cannot run on full EV mode.

The Sienta is a nice-looking, great value MPV without looking or feeling cheap. If this was available back in May, very good chance I will book the hybrid.

Congratulations to all Sienta owners. Enjoy your ride!
