So is it advisable to change the size? I want to change is because I feel that the gap is too Low, the lower body always hit the hump.

so far for new Sienta i have not hit any humps in SG yet. just need to go slow. if MY then no need to say haha... need to change to monster truck tyres  [laugh]  [smash]

i think should be ok to change if its just one inch difference.

195/50R16 is the next "official" size for current Sienta. I still find it a tad too narrow so considering 205/50R16 instead

Mine currently is original 15â, wanted to change to a bigger rim, any challenges I will face? What are the pros and cons

You can also keep current rim and change tyre size from 185/60R15 to 195/55R15 which is a more common size.

I changed from 15 to 16.

Using 195/50R16 instead of 205. The official size does not really affect the FC especially if Japan lightweight rims and your driving style is the same.

You get better stability also on 16 compared to 15. I had never regretted it.

Cheers.

Curious to know which brand and model of tyre you change to for 195/50R16? Bought from which tyre shop?

Seems like not a common size to find.

Seems like not a common size to find.

I'm using Yokohama AE-50. Common size 205/50R16.

But I wanted the recommended 16" tire size which is 195/50R16 and available for this model.

Got it from YHI.

Eh can't remember. I got it with a set of rims in a bundle.

Can try calling them for a quote.

P.S. Are you in our Sienta FB group? YHI gives discounts for Sienta club members with our car decal.

Cheers.

AndyHo are u asking about the coolant reservoir tank in white plastic or the coolant tank in the radiator?

I'm guessing the reservoir tank and if it is, never ever fill to max or to the brim. It is suppose to be mid way to allow flow back and recirculate back to the radiator when it is hot.

On the other hand as mentioned by bro kdash, radiator coolant tank should be up to the brim.

Cheers.

Neutral Newbie

Hi guys, I'm considering a sienta. Got a qns. New hybrid 1.5G was quoted $95K by PI. Am comparing is to a used car of abt 3yrs asking for abt $73K.

New car depreciation abt $9+K whereas used one is abt $8.6k per yr.

Which one do u think i should go for it?

Anyone driven your sienta past 3 yrs and any issue to share?

Tks.

He mentioned about 3 years old. I think it should be 2 years plus.

IIRC, the first batch of the current gen Sienta came in Oct/Nov 2015. Based on his question on any problems for those who have driven more than 3 years, it has not happened.

But given the fact that the first gen Sienta is still running around and some even renewed the COE, I do not think there is a problem with reliability. It's a Toyota.

Cheers.

concur. but his question was more towards comparison of brand new vs 3yo Sienta. i would assume it has to be the same model so as to have an apple to apple comparison.

Yup agree.

He MIA liao so long never answer your questions haha.

But if purely compare yearly depre against a brand new and 3 yo Sienta, cfm the latter more worth it. If one don't mind second hand car la. Some people, like me cannot tahan buying a used car. I cannot imagine what the previous owner did to the car or how he/she drives it. Only consolation is no need run in. Buy liao can just lut. Lol.

Also warranty is a consideration but then again, a 3 years old petrol Sienta should not have warranty anymore. If he is looking for hybrid, then yes (usually 8 or 10 years eh but only hybrid battery I think). But better check with the dealer on the warranty T&C. Some PI workshops warranties are tagged to owner and not the car. So if the previous owner sold it before warranty ends, it would not be transferrable to the next owner.
