Here are some videos on the Toyota Sense C pre-collision function (which is an option to add, and some of the folks have this too).

Thanks bro. A-pillar still in shape after crash.

There is long black plastic cover coming out from A-pillar. Not sure what is that...

yes that's what i noticed too, at least A-pillar still pretty much in shape so to protect people inside the car.

look at this accident that happened here. same thing, A-pillar intact. that piece of black plastic that pops up is for decorative purpose.

I look at the taxi and sienta, no question that sienta body and impact guard is not strong. but i am not sure which car it hit prior to the taxi though.Airbag is deployed too... the car should be scrapped or sold to body repair shop by the insurer and the shop will fix it back and sell it for a profit...

same like any other cars. for this case, i also believed it hit hard on another car, spin, out of control and finally have a gentle kiss on that taxi. you noticed that stationary taxi hardly moved.

It seems that way.. but there's no skid mark to indicate it spun to that final spot.. still very subjective.. Edited by Zfuyuan

If I fold down 3rd row passenger seat, could I put tonneau cover to hide my cargo?

I will drive to JB sometime, worry someone will break my glass if they see my cargo behind.

Borneo (Toyota Singapore) web site announced that Sienta (Indonesia) coming soon.  This car shares the same engine as current Avanza and come with rear aircon/blower.

Avanza comes with only 90 plus horses under the bonnet with 4 speed auto. Hope it will not be a step backwards in using an old engine in a nrwly launched car.

Msia Borneo Motors has launched Sienta. Costs below SGD40K, depends on specs.

If not competitively priced, the Sienta from Borneo may see dismay sales, like the Honda HRV, with buyers opting for the version (newer and more powerful engine) from Parallel Importers

Latest promo for Toyota wish is at $105k now, maybe they are clearing it to make space for Sienta to come in?

I do hope Bm can price the Sienta at $105k also or lesser and it will surely be a winner.

The Sienta (Indonesia) will be using 2NR-FE engine :

Engine: 1.5L, 4-cylinder In-line, 16-Valve, DOHC with Dual VVT-i
Max Power: 107PS/6,000rpm
Max Torque: 140Nm/4,200rpm

same as the current face-lifted Avanza.

Neutral Newbie

hi all,

i'm considering the sienta when my 9+ year old car COE is up next July. seems like the most economical option for me as I need to ferry 6-7 people around sometimes.

just checking with the pros here, is it possible to install aircon (not just blower) for the last row on our own on the JDM version?  If so does anyone know how much it might cost?

thanks!!
