Expected to be launched in the 4th quarter of 2016. OMV about $14K, which is lower than parallel importer's $18K-20K for the Japan assembled version. Pricing is expected to carry a Premium over the Avanza ($113,888), as it is a New model. At such pricing, the Mobilio has an edge on being at last $8K cheaper. And when the VTEC kicks in, with an extra 11 horses and 9 Nm torque advantage , can easily smoke the obese Sienta which weighs 140kg heavier. If one still insists on the Sienta, there are some established PIs selling the top spec G model ( Japan made ) at $100K with guaranteed COE with no top up, which is considered a steal if you compare with Borneo Motor's pricing with lower OMV for the Indonesia assembled version. *Doesn't make sense for an Indonesian made FALKEN tyre to cost more than a Japan made FALKEN tyre, both being same model, same specs. Wildaltum 1st Gear May 2, 2016 Share May 2, 2016 Hi. I was drving the old Sienta and was knocked twice in the rear. Back door badly damaged and dented. But did not kena the last row seats. Repair man said all MPV boot doors are made of heavy duty metal so should absorb the impact.

new_user Neutral Newbie May 8, 2016 Share May 8, 2016 Hello Sienta bros, been a silent reader all the while and currently driving the older Sienta. Im considering the new Sienta based on all the posts I read here. No offence to those in the facebook group, I tried to join but was never approved and I did that a couple of times to no avail. I created an account just to join the group and I am sure there are other bros who are not big on facebook. I hope you can help me out in this. Noticed that some bros have changed from the previous to the newer model. Is there any "difference" in power feel. Paper specs show a difference but Im a family person and I find the old Sienta's reasonable for local driving. I drove up to Malacca with 6 pax easy. Other than the power, the drive, is it the same? Noticed that there are many dealers offering G model with price of between 96K thereabouts to 100K. And a certain dealer in Ubi carrying X only. You are spoilt for choice but still each have their own stories to tell. New Sienta owners, how do you narrow down to that dealer you will get your car from? When I compare the X and the G, my preference is over the G. It has twin electric doors, driver armrest, intuitive display, auto aircon. But twin electric means its heavier even unloaded, so will it affect FC? Both X and G are keyless so that pretty evens out but the OMV diff is about 2 K and premium wise quite a difference, assuming X at 18K and G at 20K? Am currently in a dilemma like many of the posts here. Whether or not to renew COE or to consider getting a new ride. A new ride will of course be more enjoyable and that was why I was also shopping around. But at the same time, knowing that Uber and Gang will keep up this inflated COE price for some time and from now till at least end of year? I originally wanted to drive all the way but with this new "private car hire" coming in, I feel compelled to relook my options so that I will not have to wait till end year and then worry that the COE goes north. Nevertheless, I have not left out my COE renewal option out as my workhorse is still going on strong. Fellow forumers, I seek you opinions. Thanks much. I had the impression the dimensions of the seats looks pretty much the same except for the 3rd row where the seats are now joined together. The split seats of the current model was useful as both seats up, you can still squeeze in a small travel bag in the middle. I just saw the new Indo-spec Sienta. Roof top aircon and floor mounted transmission. I still like my dash mounted transmission. Edited May 8, 2016 by new_user
Porche 5th Gear May 8, 2016 Share May 8, 2016 I quite like the new model except the price. My current sienta is a good workhorse, bring it up north every few mths for work and short trip get away. But he is getting old

Karoon Turbocharged May 9, 2016 Share May 9, 2016 I like the sienta as its practical for for a family of 6. Should i go up north with the family, one of the 3rd row seats folded up could easily hold a large luggage back. Thats the advantage over jade, stream etc. Also being japanese, resale value tops c4 and 5008.
Speedygonz 1st Gear May 17, 2016 Share May 17, 2016 Has anyone compared the Sienta to the Prius Alpha since both are hybrid 7 seaters from Toyota? I believe the Prius Alpha is not widely available but PIs are willing to bring in custom orders if requested. Two main differences (Sienta vs Prius Alpha): Sliding doors vs Swing doors Second row 50:50 configuration vs 30:30:30 It seems that the Prius Alpha might be slightly longer but the Sienta might be more space efficient since it's more boxy. My wife doesn't like the look of the Sienta and prefers having three full seats in the second row (we have two kids so she'll be the one sitting between them in the second row), hence I started looking into the Prius Alpha. Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks! ↡ Advertisement
