Disappointed that only two Dash Cam manufacturers there.

ThinkWare and Optian.

Optian had some good discounts I think but Thinkware was quite small

Decided not to buy either.

The workshop guys connect the wires to a connector and from the connector to the fuse.

That connector seems to be faulty and it has been replaced.

Hi, my BIL encountered something similar on iROAD v9.

First, his car battery is new. However when in KL, he could not start up his car. The engine ON light is lit but just could not start. On these two occasions, he had to disconnect the connector to the car camera. In the next 20-30mins or so, he could start the car again. He was also using a car remote with a new battery.

Second, he changed the car camera's settings; wake/sleep. I could not recall the voltage values set. The encounters related earlier did not recur (thank god), but there were 3 occasions whereby the car camera restarted while he was driving. It mentioned as "shutting down to save power", but restarted almost immediately after it shutdown. And to reiterate again, it happened while he was driving.

From your encounter, seems like one possibility could be the faulty connector to the fuse.

Hope any Kor Kor or Jie Jie can share with me how they overcome similar encounters. Thanks all, have a great weekend...with a holiday coming up.

Here's how the workshop check for. First, they have a look at iroad using the app to see the voltage. The healthy range should be abt 12.3 to 12.4 volt. When they checked mine, its 11.7 volt which is low. They then check the battery volt, its 12.5volt. So they suspect its the connector. After replacing, the voltage on the app went to the healthy range. Hope this help.

Unless u have the tools to check the car battery voltage, u may wan to bring it to your workshop to have it checked.

Hi all,

I read with 1 main concern on V9. Batt drain on park mode. Any recommendation

to install additional batt as backup so as not to strain the main batt. Or, is it advisable to install a on/off flip switch from the supply power wire to V9.

tks to any bro/sis.

When talking to retailer/installer over weekend I was told it's very easy to pull out the socket connection and reinstall next time you use car.

Also you can set the voltage, maybe 12v, below which the camera will cut out if the battery voltage reaches that level.

Check with you guys, can we download the video via WI-FI onto the Android mobile phone or IPad and save it? Or must remove the Micro SD card and slot into a laptop and extract the file and save?

Hi Bros, Who can recommend one shop for V9 with good price including installation. The market price is too high.

Appreciate

bro,

u can try calling any of the authorised dealers from corvit.sg website. Heard it should be lowered than retail price plus installation is included. check it out.
