For me i usually do not switch off my iPhone's wifi so sometimes unable to whatsapp out due to the phone being connected to the dash cam. So removing t will be easier for me since i do not need to connect to my dash cam all the time.

I understand the problem but unless you're always opening your iRoad app to check stuff (I rarely do), just tell your phone to forget the network so that it never auto connects. When you need to, just manually connect and enter password. That's what my friends and I do. I'm quite happy with this solution.

Maybe let me explain.....

Upon activation of iroad software to connect via phone, it will turn on your phone wi fi to establish connection. Then it connects...

Knowing the above after few studies, in order to speed up the connection, I will turning my phone wi fi and when I activate iroad software, it will connect faster.

If your existing router signal still can be detected, then u will have problem connecting to your iroad. Fyi, my car park below my flat and I stay on level 9, my wi fi signal can be detected but very very weak!!!

So I would think it may be ios problem as my friend who uses iphone did face such issue. So either ios or maybe iroad is not optimise for ios.

I am not talking about the router signals. I am talking about when driving. Just like how @muser understands.

Removed the dongle on my previous car for about half a year. No issues. Put it back in when installing it in my current car. Also no issues. I'm no iRoad ambassador but I've never had an issue with my V9. Maybe I'm lucky. I'm far less demanding of my traffic cams compared to other stuff in the car. I just need it to record properly even when parked, never kill my car battery, and never die on me. Don't care what brand. Don't care what model. It must be rock solid. If it is, I'll keep it. The moment it dies on me out of warranty, I'll dump it and buy something else.

Fed up with the so called original sd card. Changed to a Samsung evo+ 64gb. So far everything is OK with the dongle inside. Overnight parking was OK yesterday. Parked in the hot sun this morning and still OK. Suspect it's the sd card issue.

On another note, the camera is a bit hot though.

I get what you meant. Usually after watching videos via wifi, I will "forget" the Iroad wifi network to prevent future auto connection. Edited by Airwaver
