I did some video encoding research before. Modern encoding techniques encode the differences between the current and previous frame. If half the frame is not moving, then the video file size will be half when compared to a video where everything captured is constantly changing. Hi Fordred, you are very clever. You are right!!! The front and rear capturing view are about the same and hence, same file size! The rear capturing 1/2 of what front view is doing, hence rear video file is smaller! Cool! ↡ Advertisement

So the camera is in fact OK.
Blue25 Clutched December 16, 2015 Share December 16, 2015 Hi, I am very new to the road. Getting car soon and would like to learn about car cam from the gurus here. I will be parking the car in surface carpark (no shade). I want to get a front rear car cam but this would probably mean the system needs to be installed, and I am concerned that the system will be exposed to lots of heat at the carpark and probably spoil faster. Are there car cams that I can plug and play only when I drive and then stow it in the compartments when I park? If so, any front rear cam options? Also, where do you guys go to shop and learn about car accessories?

Yes. If iroad can stop the recording when parking mode is disabled, I would not need to install a switch. Parking mode is working well. I observed that even when parking mode is switched on, battery level is stable if the car travels enough distance to recharge the battery during the day. I switch off parking mode off just as a precautionary as I travel less on some days.

My cam set at 11.8v, recommended by my car workshop. My cam with parking mode on never hit this level since I installed the cam 2 months ago.

Apparently, the cam will always restart itself if it goes below the cut off voltage. I think I will have to deactivate the voice alert... So irritating...The voltage is different when car engine is on and off. When engine is on, the voltage is much higher. You can see the voltage for yourself when you use the live view. Maybe your cam shutdown during parking as it goes below 11.3v and it startup again when you on your engine as the voltage goes above that level again. Slayer666 Neutral Newbie December 20, 2015 Share December 20, 2015 Hi V9 users... Only recently i've managed to view the recordings using a computer. As I'm using iPhone, i was told that i can't hear any of the recorded audio. Just then, when i used my computer, the audio recording seems to be juddering. Intermittent, 'on and off', like so robotic. But the video playback is smooth. I am using a macbook to view the recordings. i installed the iroad.exe software by using wine bottler app for mac. The only way to install windows apps in a mac. Really unlike the smooth audio recording plus video playback seen in the corvit website video examples. Any advice? Thanks,
