IRoad In-Car Camera Recorder Users

anyone know how to stop the camera (v9) from recording when car is parked. i don't drive that often and want to disable recording during parking (including impact and motion detect), i.e. basically off during parking.

i thought the app has a option in Event->Parking mode, Impact , Motion detect , but it seems like when i turn of the parking mode there, it is still recording as the camera is on and still warm.

Can anyone explain what the function in the App for Event->Parking mode, Impact , Motion detect actually does? the manual and other online sources are not very clear. they don't explain what these options result in.

Hi,

Can the iRoad v7 use a Sandisk 128GB microSD card?

Regards

Seems like the v7 can accept 128GB microSD card...

Under Event -> Parking Mode, set Motion Detect to Low. It helps a bit.

just realized recently that cutoff voltage for V7 couldn't b adjusted even there r 5 settings. after setting to 12.3v n re-enter setting menu to check, voltage still remained at 11.8v. did that for a number of times.

How do we switch off the camera to change the sd card? We are supposed to switch off first right?

I don't think there's a on/off switch button. I was looking for it too. In the end, I just took out the SD card and the cam shuts off. Maybe the other more seasoned users here can correct me if I'm wrong.

On a separate note, anyone experience issues with connecting the wifi dongle whilst the cam is turned on? (I only connect the wifi dongle when I change settings or need to view a video.) My cam will only recognise the wifi dongle when I restart the cam. If I insert the dongle when the cam is functioning, it will alert "no wifi dongle connected".

I feel it does help. The dongle feels much hotter than the cam surface.

Anyone tried without parking mode? Does it helps in conserving the voltage level? My cam is currently showing about 12.4V during parking mode and pretty stable. It is a new battery but seems that it is not too far from 11.8V threshold set in the cam.

Switched off parking mode in settings but it seems like the camera still recording. Any idea why?

Bro, means there is no way to completely shut off parking mode correct?

I recall reading one of the older posts here that it does, because your dongle will keep emitting wifi signals (and not to mention, it's the dongle which emits the most heat). Not too sure if actually does even in parking mood, but I'm just doing it out of abundance of caution. Anyways, if my phone is connected to the cam's wifi when I'm in the car, I can't connect to whatsapp etc. - so I would rather not use the cam wifi when not needed.

I think you are right, this v9 has its flaws after all. I also figured out that the parking mode cannot be shut off, only way to do it is remove sd card. So don't need to buy expensive cell link b. Rather invest in a 64gb sd card to get longer recording time to prevent any unnecessary data overwrite. Thanks for your help

Corvit just replied. There is no way to remove parking mode unless cable is removed.

So it's very silly, they shld add a switch for it. Oh well....

Lol. Then the on off parking event option in the settings is for show only ah? Quite dumb man.

Yup really dumb but bo bian buy liao then suck thumb. Emailed them again, removing sd card will not stop recording. There is no other way to cut off the power once it is tapped directly from car batt.

Now I got excuse to drive the car more often to charge batt

I was told by my workshop to unplug the power cable to the camera every time before I remove the SD card.

Yup, that makes more sense too. Many thanks.
