Turbocharged

I think there's nothing wrong.

The voice message is normal, I hear it when I parked my car for long. It tells me the car cam is working as intended, ie, shut it down when voltage dropped to as set.

Perhaps we assumed 12.3V means 12.30V, when it could be anything below 12.4, like, 12.39V?

If you are bothered, maybe you can set it to the next lower level, and check the recorded voltage again.

Do you mean one that doesn't have Parking Mode?

If so, go back to your installer and tell them to re-wire the power supply to turn on and off together with your ignition. It's a very simple job.

My car battery is a few months old. My car cam can auto shut down even after 15 mins of parking. Happens intermittently. Damn frustrating.

So reading thru the whole thread, am i right to say that it is advisable to:

1. Install car cam without linking to parking mode

2. install car cam with parking mode with additional battery pack

3. install car cam with parking mode with additional switch to on/off when needed

My current setup is the camera wiring is connected to a switch.

Is there any difference in turning off via a switch vs powering down from the unit itself?

It means the cam is connected directly to the car battery (instead of ignition) with a switch allowing you to switch it off while parked in your private garage at home but operating while parked in a public area.

Unless some creative wiring is done, you run the risk of forgetting to turn it back on when you leave home.

How about getting something like this to check and compare your battery condition even though your battery is new?  15 minutes is very short.  I've seen some costing less then $6.

Ideally your car battery voltage should be in excess of 14V while driving (alternator is charging it) and 12.6V (i think) parked.

I achieve the same currently by shutting down when I reach home and booting up when I leave home.

Are there any long term ill effects in doing so such that I should consider installing a switch?

None that I can think of, except in situations when you're driving to places your wife should not find out.  Turning off the cam will be handy.  lol

Thanks. Have got some sort of routine now although there have been odd occasions when I forgot to turn on/off.

Any store can help to install a switch to turn on/off. Do PM me thanks.

My last issue with iroad...well frustrated yes but still cling on after then shop change my remote batt. Hmm I very much doubt so is the remote batt issue.

Currently setting. 12.3v shut down. This mean my car cam shut down after 5/6 hrs of recording. My car battery is pretty new though. Around 2 months plus.

Hi Bros,

Yesterday when I was turning right (signaled) from the main road, this grey Lancer PHV just drive out & turn right from small road without giving way... I almost collided him.

Frustrated, I view through my Iroad V9S2 using my laptop, cannot even see his number plate. Fyi, this is my first time using iRoad to view number plates. My setting is 30 fps.

I than check whether can see other car number plates on the road, all so very blur. Seems like moving vehicles cannot see clearly number plates, only stationary or all running same speed then is quite clear.

Is this normal?

thanks!

How about uploading the clip to YouTube for us to see?

I think when the car is at the corner of the frame, it tends to be blurry.

I'm using iRoad A9 at 60fps, 1080p, same issue.

Very clear only if cars are not near the edge of the frame.

Yes, the vehicle is turning, and capture at a corner angle.

However, I explore other car number plates, I think more than 3 to 4 meters away started to blur, if

both cars not same speed.

Guess in future I need to shout the number plate if encountered idiot drivers, so that the iroad records my voice. LOL.

Brilliant idea!

I hope I remember to do that.

Screen%20Shot%202018-01-08%20at%2019.55.

All my previous car cams have blurry image on either sides.  Out of curiosity I looked at my Q9's footage, and am impressed.  The license plate on the edge of the screen remains sharp and clear.

Unfortunately, the clearly readable license plate number became distorted just 1 to 2 cars length away.  Any further then this the license plate number is difficult to made out.  The limitation is also speed of both cars dependant.

So it's a good idea to read out the plate number to record it down if you must, like a bro has suggested.
