Need help. My iRoad v9 out of a sudden started speaking Korean instead of English. The Android Apps now can't connect to the cam with an error "Car DVR is not certificated".

I tried to update the last available firmware from Covit but still can't get it working. Can'r bring back as it;s no longer under warranty. The cam is still recording, just that I can't use wifi to connect and have to learn korean to understand.

Tried looking at the system.cfg but can't find anything on language.

Kam sia for any suggestion.

Just bring it back to corvit. Yours is not under warranty but they aren't unreasonable people to not help you.

In fact they are quite helpful(especially with the lens blurring).

It could just be a firmware issue that they can do for you easily.

Yes, went there this morning. Tried to find out the cause but seems like a known issue. Anyway, since it's out of warranty, Corvit offered an exchange with top-up of $30 (with 3 months warranty. Not a bad deal as they claim it's a brand new set.

Their customer service is what made me get another IROAD product.

At least they bothered to reply my email on the next working day.

Anyone pls help me on my iroad V7 settings.

I've just came back from holidays and my batt was dead even though I had unplug the cable prior.

Anyway, I changed to new batt and forgot my previous settings on power on and off.

Previously I was able to record only 3-4 hours after parking. Now it records 24/7.

Current setting is:

Power on: 13.1v

Power off: 12.3v

I don't remember if need to set lower or higher for power off to stop record 24/7.

Any help is appreciated. I do not want to deplete my new batt.

Nope. I didn't remove from my car as it is nicely installed and tug underneath the car seat. U can try email or call corvit to confirm whether this can be done.

I am contemplating charging at home as I do not drive at times for more than a week. I did ask around and it was mentioned not advisable to do that.

Firstly, it's secured to the car and not recommended to take out. Secondly, the charging adaptor may not charge the battery properly compared to the car voltage.

I don't really agree with the second point though. If I can get the correct adaptor specifications, charging should be same as charging In the car if not better.

If you intend to remove the battery pack to charge at home, you defeat the purpose of installing the battery pack in the first place.

What's the purpose of your car camera in the first place? Do you need to have more than 24 hours of parking mode in the first place (to record when there is motion when you car is park)?

If your answer is to record while driving and don't need parking modem, then you don't need to install the battery pack.

Also, the point of not recommended to take out the battery pack is valid as the battery pack is install in such that the battery will be charge when you drive, if you didn't connect back the terminal properly, high chance that the terminal may get short circuit and cause a fire.

I do agree that we can charge it at home if the correct adapter and input voltage and current is used. Corvit themselves included the input socket but said home charging is currently unavailable at this time. If not, they wouldn't have included this in their design.

This is useful for users who can't fulfill the driving time of 45 mins to fully charge the battery so they rather charge it at home then bring it down to connect in the car.

It's basically like a power bank that people lug around to charge their handphone.

If u observe, all input and output supply of the battery is all from the big round connector. So if u don't connect it to the battery, it's basically an open circuit.

The other event of connecting it wrongly is impossible. There's a catch which u must align before the connector can go in and a holder which u would need to screw in to hold the connector. Failure to align it would result in the connector not going in at all.

Kinda hard to cause short circuit or fire especially when the copper pins are way inside the connector.
