Iroad V9 for $330? you sure? TLW is very famous for their cut throat price... is it no warranty de?

Hi there, newbie here. Just want to share my experience using V9S2 for fewdays..

1) The connection via wifi is smooth and live view is great.

2) View at PC with their software PC viewer seems good as it detect all sort of impact at bumps

3) Daylight quality is great for both front and back. Car front/rear and side can view the plate quite good.

4) Night quality is also good for front, back is just so so (I thought rear is the same sensor with 1080p FHD as front cam as claim in the website, why just so so). If Car directly front/ rear can view plate, but for side car I think a bit blur and not sharp.

5) Left the car at power cutoff at 13.3V and when woke up in morning my battery still at 13.4V and still recording (2 night test)

6) Yes the unit is Hot, but not that hot as commented by others..sometime suam, sometime Hot dunno why.

I have the youtube video but my car is too dirty impacting the video quality..later will share good video.

Now, below are my concern.

1) The shop change my amp from 5A to 15A. I have argued with them that it should be maintain at 5A but he said no issue. On top of that V9S2 has additional 2 fuse (mcm fuse in glass/ transparent plastic size of pen) in the wiring..no worries the shop said to me. I google around that fuse is supposedly for analog clock, I think that is the fuse if I remembered correctly. Should I changed back to original maker fuse or the just maintain the installer fuse installed to my car?

2) Is it normal to have a lot of recorded video (seems like segmented every 1 to 2 minutes)

3) Not so easy to pause at right frame and zoom the plate number especially the side car. Any tips/ skills to perfectly catch plate for side moving car?

Attached is my fuse chart. The chart no is 200-220 and fuse number I think no 206-5A which was changed to 15A. This is the one I concern about and my car is Merc W205.

Thanks for your expert feedback.

Does TLW know you installed already?

Sometimes this type purposely quote u cheap cheap knowing you have installed.

Think I will stick to the shop that quoted me $380.

You need a voltmeter to measure battery voltage.

You can get those meter display that is plugged into the cigarette socket.

Hi fellow Iroad users,

I am a new Iroad user on the V9. Will like to seek the owners here to verify some of the queries that I have:

1. Is there any way to set the Wifi password for the V9?

2. Is there any way to disable to LED light when the front/rear cameras are recording?

I have checked with my installer and his answer is NO to both thus will like to seek the advice of other owners here, thanks.

On a side note, must say the Uninterrupted Power on the V9 is impressive. My vehicle was last driven on Wednesday afternoon and till this morning, it is till recording. Compared to my Blackvue in my other vehicle (which last 12 hours tops), the backup battery on the V9 is remarkable.

Hi ahbear82, the reason for asking is not so much because I want the cam to be in 'stealth mode' but rather because I feel it is tapping on the battery unnecessarily with that light flashing non-stop like disco light!

i don't think you will be able to off the blinking light, anyway the led light won't use up alot of the battery, the energy consumption very very very little, too minimal to have an impact on your car battery, rather its the parking mode of your camera that will take a toll on the car battery.

Neutral Newbie

Hi Everyone,

Did you encounter this issue on the Iroadv9S2 firmware (August 2016 release)

- Front Camera not sharp (blurry) when compare to rear camera.

- When exiting from a parking mode, i hear the starting normal mode but no recording on the normal mode until there is an event that occurs like shock.

You're able to switch off the "Security LED" using the iRoad software with your computer.

This option is not available in the iRoad app in your phone.
